DYNAMIC SWITCH PATTERN SELECTION FOR ANGLE OF ARRIVAL
A device and method for improving the accuracy of angle of arrival and departure computations is disclosed. The device and method rely on manipulation of the antenna switching pattern to achieve an improved calculation of arrival angle. In one embodiment, the device calculates an estimate angle of arrival using conventional methods. The device then determines which of a plurality of different antenna switching pattern yields the more accurate results at this estimated angle of arrival. The AoA measurement is then repeated using the preferred antenna switching pattern. In another embodiment, the device captures the amplitude and/or phase of the signal from each antenna element. The device then sorts these antenna elements and defines a preferred antenna switching pattern based on the sort list. The AoA measurement is then performed using the preferred antenna switching pattern. In another embodiment, neural networks may be utilized to determine the preferred antenna switching pattern.

COMPENSATING FOR CROSSTALK IN DETERMINATION OF AN ANGLE OF ARRIVAL OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE AT A RECEIVE ANTENNA
An angle of arrival (AoA) of an electromagnetic wave is determined. A phase of an antenna signal associated with each of two receive antenna is measured. A measured phase difference of arrival (PDoA) of the electromagnetic wave is determined based on the measured phase of each of the antenna signals. The measured PDoA is corrected based on one or more crosstalk factors associated with the two receive antennas. The AoA of the electromagnetic wave at the two receive antenna is generated based on the corrected measured PDoA.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF PROVIDING MULTIPLE ANTENNAS TO TRACK SATELLITE MOVEMENT
An example system can include a first antenna having a first orientation, a second antenna having a second orientation and a control system communicating with the first antenna and the second antenna. The control system performs operations which can include determining a pathway of a satellite, comparing the pathway to a first radiation pattern of the first antenna and a second radiation pattern of the second antenna, wherein the first antenna and the second antenna are each positioned such that a first keyhole of the first antenna does not overlap a second keyhole of the second antenna, to yield a comparison and selecting, based on the comparison, one of the first antenna or the second antenna to communicate with the satellite along the pathway.
Corner sensor for a motor vehicle
A corner sensor for a motor vehicle capable of communicating over a wireless communication link with an authentication device and including: an array of antennae; and an electronic control unit configured to: determine the phase difference between the segments received by the antennae; determine the probability of each angle of incidence over a range of angles that is predetermined on the basis of the determined phase differences and of a predefined table, so as to determine a probability profile; measure the power of the segments received by the antennae of the array of antennae so as to determine a power profile; determine the actual angle of incidence of the signal by multiplying the probability profile with the power profile; and send the value of the determined actual angle of incidence to a central electronic control unit of the vehicle.
Angle of arrival capability in electronic devices
A method includes obtaining channel information, range information, and angle of arrival (AoA) information based on wireless signals communicated between an electronic device and an external electronic device. The method also includes generating an initial prediction of a presence of the external electronic device relative to a field of view (FoV) of the electronic device based on the channel information and at least one of the range information or the AoA information. The initial prediction includes an indication of whether the external electronic device is within the FoV or outside the FoV of the electronic device. The method further includes performing, using a tracking filter, a smoothing operation on the range information and the AoA information. Additionally, the method includes determining that the external electronic device is within the FoV of the electronic device based on the AoA information, the smoothed AoA information, and the initial prediction.
