SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPTIMIZING A JOINT COST FUNCTION AND DETECTING NEURO MUSCULAR PROFILES THEREOF
Unimaginable are the difficulties faced by patients affected by sensory-motor disabilities while executing day to day activities. The flamboyant progress that has made in other areas of medical science does not translate itself in diagnosing them. Early detection and personalized therapy of these disorders is still out of reach. Present disclosure provides systems and methods for optimizing a joint cost function and detecting neuro muscular profiles (e.g., state of user under observation) thereof by implementing a model that quantifies these disorders in terms of a cost functional, which captures the trade-off between the torques applied and the velocities experienced at the joints. Estimation of this cost functional, otherwise known as Inverse optimal control was then carried out using an optimization procedure. To validate ability of estimated cost functional to distinguish weakly distinct neuro-motor conditions, Microsoft Kinect? motion capture data from normal subjects and a patient population with mild sensory-motor disabilities.
Method and system for concurrently monitoring multiple obstetrics patients
A system, computer program product and method for facilitating concurrent monitoring of multiple obstetrics patients over a data network are proposed. Data conveying pregnancy progression information, including maternal and fetal vital sign information associated with the obstetrics patients, is received and processed to derive criticality levels for the obstetrics patients. As a first feature, notification data related to a particular obstetrics patient may be selectively transmitted to a medical expert based on different conditions including for example an associated criticality level exceeding a threshold and/or receipt of a consultation request. As a second feature, used together or separately from the first, a graphical user interface (GUI) may present a user with an ordered list of obstetrics patients dynamically adaptable based on the criticality levels. The GUI allows a user to select an obstetrics patient from the list and then adapts the GUI to present an expanded set of pregnancy progression information related to the selected obstetrics patient. Optionally, the GUI may also provide a tool allowing the user to cause a notification to be transmitted to a medical expert over the data network.
WEARABLE ARTICLE
A wearable article is provided. The wearable article may include a base portion, wherein the base portion may include a front portion, a back portion substantially opposite to the front portion, and an interior portion. The front portion may include at least one body section and the back portion may include at least one wedge section.

FETAL SCALP MONITOR
A fetal scalp monitor is disclosed that enables a medical professional to monitor the well-being of a fetus in utero. The fetal scalp monitor has a main body, with a central core having a temperature sensor, conductive dome, grounding ring, and tocodynamometer. The main body also has at least one adhesive portion to facilitate the attachment of the device onto the scalp of a fetus, and a plurality of concentric rings to militate against amniotic fluids from entering the adhesive portion. The vital signs of the infant and conditions inside the uterus are then transmitted, either wired or wirelessly, to a fetus monitoring device.
Method and system for monitoring labour progression for an obstetrics patient
A graphical user interface is provided displaying a first viewing window selected from a set of possible viewing windows conveying respective feature measurements related to labor progression. At least one viewing window in the set of possible viewing windows conveys a given feature measurement and a safety limit associated to the given feature measurement. The graphical user interface also displays at least one control allowing a user to select a subset of viewing windows from the set of possible viewing windows, the subset of viewing windows including at least one viewing window other than the first viewing window. The selected subset of viewing windows is displayed simultaneously with the first viewing window. In response to the given feature measurement exceeding the associated safety limit, information is displayed to attract the attention of the user to the viewing window conveying the given feature measurement.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING CONTRACTIONS
A method of detecting contractions in a user, the method may include providing alternating current with a determined frequency, through a first path in an abdominal tissue, between at least a first pair of electrodes positioned apart from each other over a first abdominal surface of the user. The method may further include repeatedly measuring a response of the abdominal tissue to excitation by the alternating current passing between at least a pair of electrodes, identifying at least one muscle contraction according to the changes in the response, and determining occurrence of uterine contractions based on at least one characteristic of the at least one muscle contraction. A system for detecting contractions in a user may include an alternating current generator, at least two electrodes, and a processor, operatively coupled to the at least two electrodes.
FETAL HEART MONITOR VESTMENT
Disclosed is a fetal heart monitor vestment, having a non-conductive fabric garment configured to be closely fitted to a female, a monitor controller unit comprising a fetal heart rate monitor and having a data input port, an ECG harness comprising a plurality of electrodes and a plurality of conductive fabric wires, each electrode attached to at least one of the conductive fabric wires, the conductive fabric wires in attachment to and in communication with the data input port, the electrodes and conductive fabric wires integrated into the fabric of the garment, and at least one said electrode disposed in the garment so as to be positioned on, and in close contact with, the female in a manner effective in sensing a fetal cardiac potential signal. A variety of fetal heart rate monitors and methods of operation are also disclosed.
METHOD OF MANAGING DISEASE, AND APPARATUSES OPERATING THE SAME
A disease management method and apparatuses performing the disease management method are disclosed. The disease management method may include receiving bioinformation of a cow from a biosensor capsule provided in a stomach of the cow, determining a health state of the cow by analyzing the received bioinformation, and transmitting information associated with the determined health state to a user who manages the cow, in which the health state may include at least one of a breeding-related state associated with estrus and delivery of the cow, a disease state of the cow, a methane gas generation state of the cow, or a rumen activity state of the cow.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING TRANS-ABDOMINAL FETAL OXIMETRY AND/OR TRANS-ABDOMINAL FETAL PULSE OXIMETRY USING A HEARTBEAT SIGNAL FOR A PREGNANT MAMMAL
Light reflected from a pregnant woman's abdomen and fetus contained therein that has been received by a detector and converted into a reflected electronic signal may be received by a processor. A portion of the reflected electronic signal that is reflected from the fetus may be isolated and the isolated portion of the reflected electronic signal may be analyzed to determine a fetal hemoglobin oxygen saturation level of the fetus. The isolation may be achieved by synchronizing the reflected electronic signal with a fetal heartbeat signal and multiplying the synchronized reflected electronic signal by the synchronized fetal heartbeat signal.
