PREGNANCY BELT
20170265809 · 2017-09-21 ·

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of pregnancy devices. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a wearable apparatus that alerts an expecting mother of unsafe lying or sleeping positions. An exemplary wearable apparatus consistent with the present disclosure comprises an adjustable belt member having an elongated axis of sufficient length to cover the girth of an expecting mother during the entire term of her pregnancy. Further, an attachment coupled to the wearable apparatus is present to secure the alarm belt to the expecting mother. In addition, sensors coupled to the wearable apparatus detect when the expecting mother is lying or sleeping in a supine position in which the sensors send signals to an external alarm. Furthermore, a power source may be coupled to the sensors to provide power thereto.

Systems, devices, and methods for performing trans-abdominal fetal oximetry and/or trans-abdominal fetal pulse oximetry
09757058 · 2017-09-12 · ·

Light beams emitted from one or more light sources may be directed into an abdomen of a pregnant mammal toward a fetus contained therein. Some of the light may be reflected by the pregnant woman and fetus and received at a detector over a first time. A photo detector into an electronic reflected signal, which may be communicated to a computer, may then convert the received light. The electronic reflected signal may then be processed and/or analyzed to isolate a portion of the electronic reflected signal reflected from the fetus. The isolated portion of the electronic reflected signal reflected from the fetus may then be analyzed to determine a fetal hemoglobin oxygen saturation level of the fetus. An indication of the fetal hemoglobin oxygen saturation level may then be provided to an operator by way of, for example, a computer display.

Digital electronic fetal heart rate and uterine contraction monitoring system
09693690 · 2017-07-04 ·

A digital electronic fetal heart rate and uterine contraction monitoring system with an electronic fetal monitor, a contraction monitoring sensor and a fetal heart rate sensor. A controller configured to receive fetal heart rate data and uterine contraction pressure, identify a contraction start time and end time, and calculate each rest interval in seconds between contractions. The system compares rest intervals to a safe preset limit for rest intervals, calculates a median rest interval and an average rest interval for each fifteen-minute period of labor, and presents a contraction and rest interval graph to a display. The system can activate an alarm on an electronic fetal monitor display or a third party display and can pause a pump that is delivering a drug to increase uterine contractions when a significant criteria of excessive uterine activity is detected outside preset limits to assure adequate blood flow to the fetal brain.

WEARABLE FETAL MONITORING SYSTEM HAVING TEXTILE ELECTRODES
20170150926 · 2017-06-01 · ·

A seamless, smart fetal monitoring garment and methods of using thereof. The system includes a knitted or interwoven garment having a multiplicity of conductive textile electrodes for sensing maternal and fetal electrical vital signals. The maternal and fetal electrical vital signals are selected from a group including maternal heart rate, fetal heart rate and electromyogram (EMG) activities including uterine activities. The method includes wearing the garment, acquiring electrical mixed common, maternal and fetal vital signals from surface region of a pregnant woman, using the plurality of textile electrodes, optimally weighted summing-up the acquired signals, analyzing the summed-up signals to thereby extract the maternal signal and the fetal signal, including determining their heart rates, and including detecting health hazards and in some embodiments, including detecting a uterine contraction sequence suggesting the need to be hospitalized for birth giving.

SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING

A personal health monitor, including: (a) a physiological data input device operative to gather physiological data; and (b) a multi-purpose personal data accessory, whereas the multi-purpose personal data accessory is adapted to execute health monitoring software such as to enable the multi-purpose personal data accessory to receive the physiological data, process the physiological data to provide processed physiological data and control a long range transmission of the processed physiological data to a remote entity; wherein the physiological data input device controls a transmission of the physiological data to the multi-purpose personal data accessory.

Recommending whether a subject monitoring system uses a wireless communication mode

A method and communications module for recommending in what manner or mode a sensor and communications module of a subject monitoring system should communicate. A determination is made as to whether or not more than a predetermined number of wireless channels have a noise level below a certain threshold. If a positive determination is made, a wireless communication mode is recommended. If a negative determination is made, a wireless communication mode is not recommended.

Method and device for locating wireless fetal monitoring probes in set area
20170100090 · 2017-04-13 · ·

The invention relates to a method and device for locating wireless fetal monitoring probes in a set area. The method comprises the following steps: instructions are sent via a plurality of wireless base stations to instruct the wireless probes in the action scopes of the wireless base stations to send base station signal intensity data tables; the wireless probes search all receivable base station signals, establish the base station signal intensity data tables; operations are carried out based on the received current base station signal intensity data tables and base station signal intensity data tables of reference points to obtain a distance reference table; the position of one with the smallest distance value is selected to be regarded as the current position of the corresponding probe. The method and the device have the benefits of quickly locating each wireless probe and avoiding loss of monitoring data.
