Conveying precise civic address with an emergency call
A system for appending an emergency call (e.g., E911) with a location is described herein. The system appends the emergency call to a public safety answering point (PSAP) with a location from which the E911 call occurred. A user equipment (UE), which places the emergency call, connects to the beacon via short-range communication and acquires the location from a beacon. The UE transmits the location to the PSAP via a telecommunications network.
HIGH CONFIDENCE ISOLATED PRESENCE DETECTION IN FINE RESOLUTION REGION
A radio presence-advertising signal (PAS) a PAS emitter is simultaneously received at two or more co-located directional antennas that are coupled to respective radio receivers. The antennas have reception sensitivity lobes that overlap to define a region of interest at the overlap. Substantially cotemporaneous signal strength indications are obtained from the radio receivers. A difference signal representative of a difference between two of the obtained signal strength indications of the respective antennas is generated. An average signal representative of a running average of two or more of the obtained signal strength indications is generated and used to produce a normalized confidence indicator indicating a level of confidence that the PAS emitter is disposed inside (e.g., centered in) the region of interest or alternatively indicating a level of confidence that the PAS emitter is disposed outside the region of interest. Action is taken or avoided based on the confidence signal.
PASSIVE ASSET TRACKING USING OBSERVATIONS OF WI-FI ACCESS POINTS
A method of passive asset tracking using observations of Wi-Fi access points includes associating unique identifying information of a Wi-Fi access point with a moveable asset in an asset tracking database, where the Wi-Fi access point is disposed on, attached to, or integrated, receiving observation data from a Wi-Fi AP Database including the unique identifying information of the Wi-Fi access point and location information of the Wi-Fi access point, determining a location of the moveable asset based, at least in part, on the observation data of the Wi-Fi access point, and storing the location of the moveable asset in the asset tracking database. There is no communication between the asset tracking database and one or more wireless devices that report an encounter with the Wi-Fi access point, comprising observation data, to the Wi-Fi AP Database.
Apparatus and method for optimizing wireless end node location determination via targeted proximity ranging to clusters of other wireless nodes
Provided are a wireless communications node (WCN) and a method therefor achieving optimized estimation of coordinate location of the WCN relative to wireless communications with a plurality of reference points (RPs). To do so, the WCN coordinates clustering of such RPs, and determines an estimated coordinate location of the WCN based on one or more RPs of selected ones of clusters each having a centroid thereof that is measured as being most proximate the WCN when compared with unselected clusters.
Passive asset tracking with existing infrastructure
A method of passive asset tracking includes associating unique identifying information of a Wi-Fi access point with a moveable asset, receiving unique identifying information and information relating to a location of the Wi-Fi access point encountered by one or more wireless devices and storing at least some of the information received, and tracking a location of the associated asset by the location of the Wi-Fi access point.
POSITIONING MODEL REPORTING
Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may obtain a first set of position estimates of the UE based on applying a first positioning model to one or more radio frequency fingerprint positioning (RFFP) measurements. The UE may obtain a second set of position estimates of the UE using a positioning technique that does not use the first positioning model. The UE may transmit a mismatch report, wherein the mismatch report is based on comparing the first set of position estimates with the second set of position estimates.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING ACCESS TO A VEHICLE USING A WIRELESS ACCESS DEVICE
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for providing access to a system using a wireless access device. The method can include activating a plurality of beacon transceivers of the vehicle. The method may also include determining, based at least in part on at least one beacon message received by the beacon transceivers, the wireless access device, or a combination thereof, when a position of the wireless access device relative to the vehicle satisfies an access threshold. The method may also include, in response to determining that the access threshold has been satisfied, configuring one or more systems of the vehicle based on the position of the wireless access device relative to the vehicle.
BLE networking systems and methods providing central and peripheral role reversal with enhanced peripheral location determination using constant tone extension analysis for a same channel
Provided are systems and methods for reversing the conventional roles of central and peripheral devices in a BLE network. Doing so includes implementing an end node (EN) as the sole initiator of a connection between a particular EN and a particular access point (AP). Such implementation includes determining a location of the EN, in which that location is resolved by the EN and defined with respect to exchanges of Constant Tone Extensions (CTEs) between the EN and reference points (RPs).
