DENTAL TOOL HAVING A THERMOELECTRIC DEVICE
A dental tool electrically powered by a power source includes: a handpiece having at least one switch; and a probe attachable to the handpiece so as to define a probe tip, the dental tool being operable to maintain the probe at its probe tip at a specifiable temperature. At least one of the handpiece and the probe includes a thermoelectric device, the dental tool being operable to maintain the probe at said probe tip at a specifiable temperature in response to user actuation of the at least one switch. Optionally, a second handpiece having an electrically conductive enclosure houses a second switch held by the patient. A method of conducting a dental test on a tooth of the patient includes: generating a sensory stimulus at the probe tip when the probe tip is in contact with the tooth; and receiving an actuation by the patient of the second switch.
Estimating a surface texture of a tooth
Embodiments for estimating a surface texture of a tooth are described herein. One method embodiment includes collecting a sequence of images utilizing multiple light conditions using an intra-oral imaging device and estimating the surface texture of the tooth based on the sequence of images.
Deriving tooth condition information for populating digital dental charts
Disclosed are methods and digital tools for deriving tooth condition information for a patient's teeth, for populating a digital dental chart with derived tooth condition information, and for generating an electronic data record containing such information.
METHOD FOR ANALYSING A DENTAL SITUATION
A method for analyzing a real dental situation of a patient. The method includes steps, as follows, in succession. At an updated instant, acquisition of an updated image representing a real dental scene as observed by an operator. Determination of a virtual dental scene as a function of the representation of the real dental scene on the updated image. Presentation of the virtual dental scene in transparent mode and overlaid on the real dental scene, or display of the updated image on a screen and presentation of the virtual dental scene overlaid with the representation of the real dental scene on the updated image displayed on the screen, in transparent mode or not on the representation.
Three-Dimensional Dental Scanning System and Method of Scanning
A three-dimensional (3D) dental scanning system (1) for scanning a dental object (D) includes a scanning surface (124a) to support the dental object (D); a scanning section (130) to capture a 3D scan of the dental object (D); a motion section (120) to move the scanning surface (124a) and scanning section (130) relative to each other in five axes of motion, whilst retaining the scanning surface (124a) in a substantially horizontal plane, and a control unit (140) configured to control the motion section (120) and the scanning section (130) to obtain a 3D scan of the dental object (D).
METHOD FOR ASSESSING ORAL HEALTH USING A MOBILE DEVICE
A method for remotely assessing oral health of a user of a mobile device by obtaining, using the mobile device (40), at least one digital image (1) of said user's (30) oral cavity (31) and additional non-image data (2) comprising anamnestic information about the user (30). The digital image (1) is processed both using a statistical object detection algorithm (20) to extract at least one local visual feature (3) corresponding to a medical finding related to a sub-region of said user's oral cavity (31); and also using a statistical image recognition algorithm (21) to extract at least one global classification label (4) corresponding to a medical finding related to said user's oral cavity (31) as a whole. An assessment (10) of the oral health of said user (30) is determined based on the local visual feature(s) (3), the global classification label(s) (4) and the non-image data (2).
Oral care system
An oral care implement including a handle and an oral care refill head. The handle has a gripping portion, an engagement component coupled to a distal end of the gripping portion, and a stem. The engagement component includes a plate portion and a first engagement feature. The stem extends through an opening in the engagement component and protrudes from the plate portion. The oral care refill head includes an oral care treatment portion and a sleeve portion. The sleeve portion has an inner surface that defines a sleeve cavity having a cavity axis and a second engagement feature. When the oral care refill head is detachably coupled to the handle, the first and second engagement features mate with one another to at least one of: (1) position the oral care refill head and the handle in an operational alignment; and (2) lock the oral care refill head to the handle.
AUTOMATED AND PRECISE DEVICE FOR DENTAL PLAQUE DETECTION, MONITORING AND REMOVAL
Automated devices for detecting and removing dental biofilms are described herein. In some embodiments, the disclosed subject matter includes a device for administering a suspension comprising iron oxide nanoparticles to teeth to chemically treat and mechanically remove dental biofilms. In some embodiments, disclosed subject matter includes a device for administering a suspension comprising iron oxide nanoparticles and hydrogen peroxide to teeth to kill bacteria within a biofilm matrix and degrade the biofilm matrix and assembling the iron oxide nanoparticles into autonomous magnetic bristles or antimicrobial robots to mechanically remove biofilm. Devices and methods for real-time detection of dental plaque and monitoring of removal of dental plaque are also disclosed herein.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING VIRTUAL MODEL
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for generating a virtual model. The apparatus according to the present disclosure comprises: a scanner that acquires a continuous 2D image within a measurement space; and a model generation unit for generating a three-dimensional virtual model by converting the image acquired from the scanner, wherein the model generation unit removes an area from the three-dimensional virtual model according to the reliability of data and generates a final model on the basis of the remaining area.
SECURELY MANAGING DIGITAL ASSISTANTS THAT ACCESS THIRD-PARTY APPLICATIONS
Systems herein allow a digital assistant to make requests to applications, such as third-party applications, that access data in an enterprise mobility management (“EMM”) system. The digital assistant can link to a portal application and receive a token that identifies a user. A remote application on a user device can establish a session with the portal application as part of a single sign on (“SSO”). The session can identify the same user. The portal application can then link the digital assistant to the remote application. When the digital assistant makes a request to the portal application, a notification can be pushed to the remote application. The user can confirm the request, establishing an authorized session during which time the digital assistant can make additional requests to the portal application. The portal application can service the requests by accessing third-party applications available through the portal application and authorized for access by the SSO.
