Devices and techniques for vascular compression
The present disclosure provides for specific shapes and combinations of the compression members amenable to the safest, yet most effective compression of the carotid and vertebral arteries aimed at prevention of embolic stroke. An associated method of achieving an optimal compression of said arteries for the purpose of stroke prevention is provided.
Systems and methods for analytical comparison and monitoring of aneurysms
Systems and methods for identifying growth of a cerebral aneurysm. The method includes forming a first virtual skeleton model from a first image segmentation and forming a second virtual skeleton model from a second image segmentation. The virtual skeleton models including a plurality of edges with each edge having a plurality of skeleton points. Each skeleton point is associated with a subset of a plurality of blood vessel surface points. The method includes identifying one or more second terminal points within the second virtual skeleton model and overlapping the first virtual skeleton model and the second virtual skeleton model by orienting the one or more first terminal points with the one or more second terminal points.
Arterial system navigation methods and devices and systems to perform the same
Arterial system navigation methods and devices and systems to perform the same. In an exemplary embodiment of a method of the present disclosure, the method comprises the steps of inserting at least part of an impedance device into an artery of a patient, the artery selected from the group consisting of a femoral artery and a radial artery, obtaining at least one conductance measurement while navigating a distal end of the impedance device through an arterial vasculature of the patient until the distal end is at or near a left ventricle, and performing at least one medical procedure at a location within the arterial vasculature.
Devices, systems and methods for using and monitoring medical devices
Medical devices are provided, comprising a medical device and a sensor.
MEDICAL IMAGING AND EFFICIENT SHARING OF MEDICAL IMAGING INFORMATION
An MRI image processing and analysis system may identify instances of structure in MRI flow data, e.g., coherency, derive contours and/or clinical markers based on the identified structures. The system may be remotely located from one or more MRI acquisition systems, and perform: error detection and/or correction on MRI data sets (e.g., phase error correction, phase aliasing, signal unwrapping, and/or on other artifacts); segmentation; visualization of flow (e.g., velocity, arterial versus venous flow, shunts) superimposed on anatomical structure, quantification; verification; and/or generation of patient specific 4-D flow protocols. A protected health information (PHI) service is provided which de-identifies medical study data and allows medical providers to control PHI data, and uploads the de-identified data to an analytics service provider (ASP) system. A web application is provided which merges the PHI data with the de-identified data while keeping control of the PHI data with the medical provider.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CLASSIFYING CRITICAL HEART DEFECTS
Disclosed are systems and methods for classifying heart defects using a predictive model based on a set of parameters that includes oxygen saturation (Sp02), perfusion index (PIx), heart rate (HR) data, radiofemoral delay, and/or photoplethysmography (PPG) slope.
Elucidating a Proteomic Signature for the Detection of Intracerebral Aneurysms
Systems and methods for detecting an intracranial aneurysm in a test subject are provided. Liquid biological samples are obtained from the test subject, each liquid biological sample comprising a plurality of protein analytes. Liquid biological samples are analyzed using an immunoassay, obtaining a test dataset comprising a plurality of abundance measures. Each abundance measure corresponds to a respective protein analyte in the plurality of protein analytes. The test dataset is inputted into a trained classifier, obtaining an indication from the trained classifier that the subject has an intracranial aneurysm, based at least in part on the plurality of abundance measures for the test subject in the test dataset.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSESSING INTERNAL ORGANS
Apparatus for determining data indicative of blood oxygen levels of internal organs are disclosed. The apparatus comprising: a body comprising a contact surface for engaging with a subject in a vicinity of an internal organ of the subject; the body defining a first recess and second recess, the first and second recesses extending from the contact surface into the body, the second recess being separate from the first recess; a light source comprising a light emitting region located within the first recess and configured to emit light of at least two discreet wavelengths from the first recess of the body onto the internal organ; and a photo-detector comprising a light sensitive region located within the second recess and configured to detect light received at the second recess, wherein the detected light comprises the emitted light reflected from a region of a subject in proximity to an internal organ; wherein the apparatus is configured such that the light emitting region and the light sensitive region are set back from the contact surface by from about 1 mm to about 20 mm and nearest points of the light emitting region and the light sensitive region are separated from one another by from about 4 mm to about 20 mm, such that the detected light is indicative of blood oxygen levels in blood vessels of an outermost surface of the internal organ. Also disclosed are systems comprising the apparatus and methods utilising it for assessing internal organ health of a subject and in particular, but not exclusively, for determining blood oxygen saturation in internal organs of a subject.
DEVICE FOR TREATMENT OF ANEURYSM
A device for treating an aneurysm of a human or mammal patient, wherein the aneurysm may self-expand, leading to the aneurysm bursting with high risk for death of the human or mammal patient. The device comprising an implantable member adapted to be placed in connection with the outside of a blood vessel having the aneurysm, and to exercise a pressure on the outside of the blood vessel having the aneurysm, a measuring device or sensor for measuring or sensing an expansion of the aneurysm, and a pressure regulator adapted to regulate the exercised pressure on the outside of the blood vessel having the aneurysm.
APPARATUS FOR CHARACTERIZING A VESSEL WALL
The invention presents an apparatus (6) for characterization of a condition of a vessel (12) wall of a living being (2). The relationship between temporal blood pressure (621) and blood flow (622) measurements of pulsatile blood motion within the vessel (12) is an indication of the health of the vessel (12) wall.
