An X-ray inspection system for scanning objects is provided. The system includes a stationary X-ray source made of one or more linear modules positioned around a scanning volume, and defining sparsely positioned multiple stationary X-ray source points from which X-rays can be directed through the scanning volume. An X-ray detector array extends around the scanning volume and is arranged to detect X-rays from the source points which have passed through the scanning volume. A conveyor is arranged to convey the objects through the scanning volume and at least one processor processes the detected X-rays to produce three dimensional images of the items.

CT imaging apparatus and method, and X-ray transceiving component for CT imaging apparatus

The present invention provides an X-ray transceiving component for a CT imaging apparatus, comprising one or more bulb devices and a plurality of detector devices. The one or more bulb devices are configured to emit quadrate-tapered or fan-shaped X-ray beams. The plurality of detector devices are configure to receive the quadrate-tapered or fan-shaped X-ray beams emitted by the one or more bulb devices, each of the quadrate-tapered or fan-shaped X-ray beams comprising X-rays passing through a scanning field of view. Note that the plurality of detector devices are configured to receive X-rays passing through different areas within the scanning field of view, the one or more bulb devices are micro-focus bulb devices, and the plurality of detector devices are flat panel detectors or photoelectric coupling detectors. The present invention can greatly improve a resolution of CT imaging, increase imaging efficiency, and realize low-dose diagnosis in the case of ensuring that the scanning field of view is sufficient.

Three-dimensional radiograph security system

A method and apparatus for displaying a three-dimensional radiograph in a security scanner. A first X-ray image of an object is generated by the security scanner from a first viewpoint. A second X-ray image of the object is generated by the security scanner from a second viewpoint. The first X-ray image and the second X-ray image form a stereogram. The stereogram is displayed by the security scanner on a display system for the security scanner such that a first eye of a viewer sees the first X-ray image in the stereogram and a second eye of the viewer sees the second X-ray image in the stereogram. A parallax between the first viewpoint and the second viewpoint in the stereogram results in a three-dimensional visualization of the object on the display system for the security scanner.

A scanning system, corresponding bracket and method are for scanning an object. The system has a frame defining a scanning chamber in which the object to be scanned is placed. The system also has a displacement assembly which displaces the object into and out of the scanning chamber. The system can also have a source which emits electromagnetic radiation or X-rays against the object within the scanning chamber such that the EM radiation passes through the object. The system can also have detectors arranged around the scanning chamber which detect the EM radiation which passes through the object. Each of the detectors forms a detector angle with a plane which can vary from one detector to the next. Similarly, the source can form an angle with the horizontal plane. The system, bracket, and method allow for the production of representative three-dimensional views of the object.
