Methods for radio wave based health monitoring that involve engaging alignment features of a health monitoring device and an alignment element
A method for monitoring a health parameter in a person involves engaging an alignment feature of a health monitoring device with an alignment feature of an alignment element that is worn on the skin, transmitting radio waves from at least one transmit antenna of the health monitoring device below the skin surface of the person while the alignment feature of the health monitoring device is engaged with the alignment feature of the alignment element that is worn by the person, receiving radio waves on a two-dimensional array of receive antennas of the health monitoring device while the alignment feature of the health monitoring device is engaged with the alignment feature of the alignment element that is worn by the person, generating digital data that corresponds to the received radio waves, and determining a value that is indicative of a health parameter of the person in response to the digital data.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING PROPERTIES IN A VESSEL
The invention is directed to a method of determining properties in a vessel or the heart (V) of a patient. It comprises the steps of placing an element in a vessel or the heart(V) and determining a propulsion force (2) acting on the element. Furthermore, at least one of acceleration (3) and velocity (4) of the element is determined. At least one property of a neighbouring medium of the element is determined based on the propulsion force and at least one of acceleration (3) and velocity (4) of the element.
System and method of detecting inter-vascular occlusion
Some aspects of the invention may be directed to a system and method of determining an occurrence of inter-vascular occlusion. The method may include: receiving, from a first sensor, a first indication, related to blood flow in a first artery supplying blood to a first hemisphere of a subject's brain; receiving from one of: the first sensor and a second sensor, a second indication related to the blood flow in a second artery supplying blood to a second hemisphere of the subject's brain; comparing the first and second indications; and determining an occurrence of an inter-vascular occlusion based on the comparison.

Methods for evaluating effectiveness of resuscitation efforts during a cardiac crisis
Described are a device and method for detecting cerebral perfusion in a subject's head during a cardiac crisis. Embodiments of the device include a neurological status evaluation apparatus having a signal generator configured to generate an electromagnetic signal at one or more frequencies, a transmitting antenna coupled to the signal generator and configured to transmit the electromagnetic signal, and a receiving antenna positioned proximate to the transmitting antenna such that an evaluation space is defined between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna. In embodiments, the subject's head does not contact the transmitting antenna or the receiving antenna. The receiving antenna receives a modulated electromagnetic signal after propagating through the subject's head. The neurological status evaluation apparatus further includes a signal analyzer coupled to the receiving antenna, wherein the signal analyzer receives and samples the modulated electromagnetic signal. A computing device is coupled to the signal analyzer, calculates an evaluation, and provides a neurological status indicator of the subject's head based on the evaluation parameter.
