An optical slide intended to receive a biological sample for the purposes of total internal reflection microscopy. Such an optical slide includes a glass base substrate and a stack of thin layers of alternating dielectric materials which is arranged on the substrate, the free layer of the stack being biocompatible. The stack has index and layer thickness characteristics for supporting the surface waves at the interface between the free layer and the sample, such that the imaging sensitivity and resolution of total internal reflection microscopy are improved.

INFRARED TRANSMITTING COVER SHEET

An infrared transmitting cover sheet for receiving incident light having incident visible light and incident near infrared light. The infrared transmitting cover sheet includes: infrared transmission means arranged to transmit at least 65% of the incident near infrared light, through the infrared transmitting cover sheet, visible light transmission means arranged to transmit as less as possible incident visible light having wavelengths lower than 600 nm, excluding the wavelength of 700 nm, through the infrared transmitting cover sheet, and reflection means arranged to reflect a portion of the incident visible light to the side of the incident light.

A totally internally reflective image display having a first electrically charged particle and a second electrically charged particle of opposite charges are disclosed. By applying a non-zero voltage the particles are moved such that they frustrate total internal reflection and create a dark state. By applying a zero voltage and/or voltage pulsing, light is totally internally reflected to create a light state. The display is DC balanced and compatible with common drive electronics. Multi-colored displays may be created using first and second particles with different optical characteristics.

SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULE

A solar photovoltaic module (1) intended to receive incident light, said incident light comprising incident visible light and incident near infrared light, visible light being defined as light having a wavelength between 380 nm and 700 nm, excluding 700 nm and near infrared light is defined as light having a wavelength between 700 nm and 2000 nm, characterized in that said solar photovoltaic module (1) comprises: a photovoltaic element (2), sensitive to near-infra red light, at least a first infrared transmitting cover sheet (4), arranged to one side of said photovoltaic element (2), comprising: infrared transmission means arranged to transmit at least 65% of said incident infrared light through said infrared transmitting cover sheet, visible light transmission means arranged to transmit as less as possible incident light having wavelengths lower than 600 nm, preferably lower than 650 nm, more preferably lower than 700 nm, excluding the wavelength of 700 nm, through said infrared transmitting cover sheet (4), reflection means arranged to reflect a portion of said incident visible light of said infrared transmitting cover sheet (4), to the side of said incident light.

Optoelectronic device

An optoelectronic device, in particular a display device, comprises: at least one optoelectronic light source, an at least partially transparent front layer, an at least partially transparent support layer, wherein the light source is arranged between the front layer and the support layer, wherein a front side of the light source faces the front layer and a rear side of the light source faces the support layer, and wherein a limiting device is provided in a circumferential direction around the light source, wherein the limiting device limits a spatial region, in which the light source emits light such that total internal reflection of the emitted light, in particular at an interface between the front layer and the outside, is avoided or at least reduced.

OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICE

An optoelectronic device comprises an at least partially transparent intermediate layer, in particular a transparent foil, and a plurality of optoelectronic light sources arranged on or embedded in the intermediate layer, and at least one of the following: a preferably non-transparent top layer, in particular a coloured foil, arranged on an upper surface of the intermediate layer, the top layer comprises a plurality of apertures which are aligned with the light sources, so that light from a light source can be radiated to the front through the aperture which is aligned with the light source, a filtering layer, in particular configured to operate as a neutral density filter, arranged on an upper surface of the top layer or the upper surface of the intermediate layer, a non-transparent or at least partially transparent background layer, in particular a coloured foil, arranged on a bottom surface of the intermediate layer.

Optical device

An optical device includes a light guide and a light shielding portion. The light guide has: an incident surface on which an external scene light coming from a blind area is incident; a first surface including flat portions and prism portions; and a second surface opposite to the flat portions. The light shielding portion is provided on a surface of the light guide or at a position away from the light guide so as to block an outside light entering the light guide. The light shielding portion has a first light shielding portion for blocking light incident on an inclined surface and a second light shielding portion for blocking light incident on the flat portion in a predetermined direction.
