REGIOSELECTIVELY SUBSTITUTED CELLULOSE ESTERS AND FILMS MADE THEREFROM

Regioselectively substituted cellulose esters having a plurality of pivaloyl substituents and a plurality of aryl-acyl substituents are disclosed along with methods for making the same. Such cellulose esters may be suitable for use in films, such as +A optical films, and/or +C optical films. Optical films prepared employing such cellulose esters have a variety of commercial applications, such as, for example, as compensation films in liquid crystal displays and/or waveplates in creating circular polarized light used in 3-D technology.

A manufacturing method of an adhesive layer includes: providing a preliminary adhesive layer, attaching a mask to a first area portion of the preliminary adhesive layer, and thereby, provide a second area portion of the preliminary adhesive layer that is adjacent to the first area portion and to which the mask is not attached, to provide an adhesive layer that exhibits good folding reliability. In addition, a display device may exhibit good folding reliability characteristics by including the adhesive layer from which an adhesion force of a folding area is reduced between a supporting member and a display panel of the display device.

The present disclosure relates to an anti-reflective film comprising: a hard coating layer; and a low refractive index layer, wherein a particle-mixed layer containing both hollow inorganic nanoparticles and solid inorganic nanoparticles and having a thickness of 1.5 nm to 22 nm exists in the low refractive index layer, and wherein the anti-reflective film has a ratio of the reflectance at a wavelength of 400 nm to the reflectance at a wavelength of 550 nm of 1.3 to 2.7, and a polarizing plate, a display device, and an organic light emitting diode display device comprising the anti-reflective film.

Optical laminate and image display device including the same

An optical laminate includes two substrates each of which has a tensile modulus in a range from 2,000 MPa to 7,500 MPa, and an adhesive layer interposed between the substrates. A storage modulus at 25° C. of the adhesive layer is 100 kPa or less, and a storage modulus at −20° C. of the adhesive layer is equal to or less than three times the storage modulus at 25° C. of the adhesive layer. The optical laminate and an image display device including the optical laminate may have an improved flexible property at various temperature ranges and may be capable of minimizing cracks when being bent.

A light control film comprises a light input surface and a light output surface; alternating transmissive regions and absorptive regions disposed between the light input surface and the light output surface; and TIR cladding layers. The TIR cladding layer having a refractive index, n.sub.TIR. The transmissive regions alternate between high refractive index transmissive regions having a refractive index, n.sub.2, and low refractive index transmissive regions having a refractive index, n.sub.1. The absorptive regions comprise a core having a refractive index, n.sub.core, adjacent an AR cladding layer; wherein n.sub.1<n.sub.2 and n.sub.TIR<n.sub.2. OPTICALLY DIFFUSIVE FILM WITH ELONGATED STRUCTURES

An optically diffusive film includes an optical substrate layer with opposing first and second major surfaces; and an optical layer disposed on the second major surface of the optical substrate layer and including a structured major surface having a plurality of spaced apart elongated structures elongated along a same first direction and arranged at a substantially uniform density, each elongated structure including a peak such that, in a plane of a cross-section of the elongated structure that is parallel to the first direction and comprises the peak, the elongated structure has a substantially flat top region; wherein for substantially normally incident light and a visible wavelength range and an infrared wavelength range, the optical substrate layer has an average total transmittance or reflectance of greater than about 60% in the visible wavelength range and an average specular transmittance of greater than about 60% in the infrared wavelength range.
