The first solid-state light source is optically coupled to the optical waveguide near the proximal end, and emits a first light beam that propagates toward the distal end and has a first center wavelength. The second solid-state light source is optically coupled to the optical waveguide near the proximal end, and emits a second light beam that propagates toward the distal end and has a second center wavelength differing from the first center wavelength. The diffuser diffuses the first light beam and the second light beam.
Optical Fiber Illumination by a Set of Light Emitters
An electronic device includes a substrate, a set of light emitters on the substrate and arranged in a plurality of axisymmetric light emitter groups, a set of lenses including a different lens disposed over each axisymmetric light emitter group of the plurality of axisymmetric light emitter groups, and a set of optical fibers. At least one optical fiber in the set of optical fibers has a proximal end, a distal end, and a bend between the proximal end and the distal end. The proximal end is positioned to receive light, through a respective lens in the set of lenses, from the light emitters of a respective axisymmetric light emitter group in the plurality of axisymmetric light emitter groups.
Embeddable Module for High Output Led
In one aspect, a light module is disclosed, which includes a housing providing a hollow chamber extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a lens positioned in the hollow chamber, where the lens has a lens body comprising an input surface for receiving light from a light source and an output surface through which light exits the lens body, said lens further comprising a collar at least partially encircling said lens body. The light module further includes at least one shoulder on which the lens collar can be seated for positioning the lens within the housing. A light source, e.g., an LED, is coupled to the hollow chamber, e.g., at its proximal end, for providing light to the lens. In some embodiments, an optical window is disposed in the hollow chamber and is optically coupled to the output surface of the lens such that the light exiting the lens passes through the optical window before exiting the light module. In some embodiments, the shoulder can be formed as part of the housing. In other embodiments, the shoulder can be provided by a sleeve disposed in the module's housing.
MACHINE VISION NEEDLE COUNTING IMAGING TRAY
A needle collection and counting tray for use in a clinical setting, such as an operating room, into which a user deposits used needles. The tray is then placed into a counting and identification machine the utilizes object recognition technology to identify and count the needles on the tray.
OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE PACKAGE AND LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE
An optical waveguide package includes a substrate, and an optical waveguide layer on an upper surface of the substrate. The optical waveguide layer includes a cladding and a core in the cladding. The cladding has at least one first recess having a bottom surface and a first inner wall surface surrounding the bottom surface. The first inner wall surface of the at least one first recess is inclined and has an upper side outward from a lower side.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING LIGHT EMITTING APPARATUS
An electronic device according to various embodiments disclosed herein may include: a shield member comprising a light shield including a seating portion provided therein, a first opening provided in a front surface of the light shield and connected to the seating portion, and a second opening provided in a side surface of the light shield and connected to the seating portion, the electronic device may further include a light guide including a light-receiving portion and a guide portion extending in one direction from the light-receiving portion, wherein the guide portion is disposed in the second opening and the light-receiving portion is seated on the seating portion, and may include a light-emitting portion comprising light-emitting circuitry disposed in the first opening of the light shield to close the first opening and face the light-receiving portion.
Fiber-optic sheet lighting
Laser light is coupled to optical fibers arranged in a sheet, which may be in the form of netting, mesh or fabric. Scattering centers or bends in the optical fibers allow the coupled light to escape from the sides of the fibers. Depending on the selection of wavelengths for the lasers, the resulting luminous sheet may be used for illumination of crops grown in vertical farms. The laser wavelengths excite plant photopigments for predetermined physiological responses, and the light source intensities may be temporally modulated to maximize photosynthesis and control photomorphogenesis responses. Each laser may be independently controlled, and at least one laser may emit ultraviolet-C radiation. The luminous sheet may be used for purification of air flowing through an air duct.
