PHASE-CONTRAST MICROSCOPE
A phase-contrast microscope includes a light source section configured to emit light; a light guide including a plurality of optical fibers, the light guide transmitting the light emitted from the light source section through the plurality of optical fibers; and an object lens including a lens and an annular phase film, the annular phase film being on the side to which light passes through the lens, the object lens being configured to enlarge an image on a sample irradiated with the light transmitted by the light guide. The plurality of optical fibers include a plurality of emission faces arranged to form a ring, and the light guide is disposed in such a manner that the plurality of emission faces are in a conjugate position to the annular phase film.
Positioning device for positioning a light-conducting fibre in a calibration port
The invention relates to a positioning apparatus (100) for positioning a light-guiding fiber (206) in a calibration port (208) of a medical apparatus (202) comprising at least one light source (204) for the light-guiding fiber (206), wherein the positioning apparatus (100) comprises an elongate body (102) with two end faces (110, 112) and at least one side face (116). A channel (104) for receiving the light-guiding fiber (206) is formed in the body (102), said channel extending along a longitudinal axis of the body (102) proceeding from a first end face (110). Here, according to the invention, provision is made for the body (102), at least in one portion, to consist of an opaque material in the region of the channel (104) and/or to be coated with an opaque material and for said body to have at least one cutout (113, 118), which extends from a side face (116) and/or the second end face (112) of the body (102) to the channel (104) such that radiation emitted by the light-guiding fiber (206) can only emerge from the positioning apparatus (100) in unimpeded fashion through the at least one cutout (113, 118).
Illumination device and test chamber
An illumination module for a test chamber, a test chamber and a method for modifying a test chamber. The test chamber includes a temperature-insulated test space sealable against an environment for receiving test material. The illumination module can be disposed at least partially in the test space to illuminate the test space and includes an illuminant and a socket, a wall duct and a light conducting device. The wall duct is disposed in a wall surrounding the test space and extends from an inner side to an outer side of the wall. The light conducting device has a light exit area and a light entry area and is disposed within the wall duct. The socket is disposed at the outer end positioning the illuminant at the light entry area. The light exit area is disposed at the inner end.

An optical adjustment apparatus includes a measurement-light irradiation part that has a plurality of second optical fibers and emits, with timings different from each other, a plurality of lights having a single wavelength via the second optical fibers, an optical fiber block that holds exit-side end portions of the first and second optical fibers, a light detection part that receives and detects a plurality of reflected lights via the second optical fibers, a tilt calculation part that compares, with each other, variations with time of intensities of the respective reflected lights and calculates a tilt of the optical fiber block relative to the optical substrate, and a distance calculation part that calculates an inter-end surface distance between the optical substrate and the optical fiber block, based on a variation with time of an intensity of at least one reflected light.

An optical fiber module includes an optical fiber containing a glass component, and a ferrule which is tubular in shape and covers an outer circumferential surface in an end portion of the optical fiber. The outer circumferential surface of the optical fiber and an inner circumferential surface of the ferrule are bonded by a silicone resin containing siloxane bonds at cross-linking points.
REMOTE INDICATOR
A remote indicator system comprising a housing and a display unit located remotely from the housing. The housing comprises a first light source and a first end of an end-emitting fibre optic cable. The display unit comprises a second end of the fibre optic cable. The housing includes manual switching means configurable to allow light from the first light source to pass into the first end of the optical fibre cable and further configurable to prevent light from the first light source from passing into the first end of the optical fibre cable.

A lighting device produces scenic effects including a light source group; a light guide extending along a longitudinal axis and coupled to the light source assembly defining an optical path; a primary mirror arranged along the longitudinal axis facing the light source assembly to reflect the light beam from the light guide; and a secondary mirror facing the primary mirror to reflect the light beam reflected by the primary mirror towards an emission area surrounding the primary mirror, wherein a primary reflecting surface of the primary mirror has at least one first portion having a first hyperbolic shape or a first aspherical shape of even order and degree equal to or greater than four and a secondary reflecting surface of the secondary mirror has at least one second portion having a second hyperbolic shape or a second aspherical shape of even order and degree equal to or greater than four.

An endoscope includes an insertion unit, an operation unit, an emission end, a first light guide and a second light guide that guide illumination light emitted from a light source unit to the emission end, a lens member that suppresses a variation in a relative intensity of each color light of the illumination light, and a connection unit that optically connects the first light guide, the second light guide, and the lens member; and the lens member is disposed between the first light guide and the second light guide, and the connection unit and the lens member are provided in the operation unit.
SPECKLE-SUPPRESSING LIGHTING SYSTEM
A speckle-suppressing lighting system includes an optical waveguide, a first solid-state light source, a second solid-state light source, and a diffuser. The optical waveguide has a proximal end and a distal end. At least part of the diffuser is between the proximal end and the distal end. The first solid-state light source is optically coupled to the optical waveguide near the proximal end, and emits a first light beam that propagates toward the distal end and has a first center wavelength. The second solid-state light source is optically coupled to the optical waveguide near the proximal end, and emits a second light beam that propagates toward the distal end and has a second center wavelength differing from the first center wavelength. The diffuser diffuses the first light beam and the second light beam.
