Optical engine for three-dimensional printing
A spatial light modulator outputs modulated light including: modulated first light when the spatial light modulator receives first light; and modulated second light when the spatial light modulator receives second light. Projection optics project the modulated light onto: a first pixel region when a component or the spatial light modulator has a first position; and a second pixel region when the component or the spatial light modulator has a second position. The first and second pixel regions partially overlap. A pixel shifter moves the component or the spatial light modulator between: the first position when the spatial light modulator outputs the modulated first light; and the second position when the spatial light modulator outputs the modulated second light.
Infant feeding measurement device
A system for monitoring infant feeding habit includes a nipple having an embedded pressure sensing passage and pressure sensing opening. The pressure sensing opening is proximate the nipple feeding opening. The pressure sensing passage allows monitoring of change in pressure of infant sucks and swallows throughout feeding.
ORAL PRESSURE MEASUREMENT DEVICE
An oral pressure measurement device is provided that includes a handle and a sensor extending from the handle. The sensor includes a plate-like first pressure sensor for pressure measurement and a plate-like second pressure sensor for pressure measurement. The sensor portion further includes a first pressure dispersion plate arranged above a first principal surface of the first pressure sensor and a second pressure dispersion plate arranged above a second principal surface of the second pressure sensor. The first pressure dispersion plate and the second pressure dispersion plate are separately arranged.
Auxiliary component for an equipment for cardiac autonomic neuropathy test and equipment that includes such a component
Equipment for carrying out cardiac autonomic neuropathy tests includes a base unit to which a mouthpiece is connected, forming an autonomous system for measuring the pressure and/or the pattern of breath, provided with a series of LEDs aimed at informing a patient, who is undergoing the test, about correctness or incorrectness of a test execution. The mouthpiece is provided with a flow sensor, aimed at measuring a patient's pattern of breath, and a pressure sensor. The mouthpiece includes also an atmospheric pressure sensor aimed at measuring the environmental pressure. The equipment includes also a sensor, aimed at measuring the heartbeat, applied by simple contact to the patient's wrist area, and an orthostatic measuring device aimed at measuring any change of the patient's position. Data can be introduced or analysed and the type of exam to do can be selected. Results of the tests can be stored in a memory.
Utilization of infant activated audio player
One aspect of the present disclosure include a method of utilizing an oro-motor device to activate an audio device, the method includes providing an oro-motor device having a sensor and a nipple; producing a signal when the nipple portion present in an infants mouth when the nipple portion yields a first measured pressure over an age appropriate predetermined threshold applied to the nipple portion by the infant; responsive to the signal, playing an age appropriate audio recording for a predetermined duration on an audio device; and raising the age appropriate predetermined threshold to a raised threshold proportionally to a difference between the first measured pressure application to the nipple portion and the age appropriate predetermined threshold.
ORAL DATA COLLECTING DEVICE FOR DIAGNOSIS OR PROGNOSIS
An apparatus that monitors information associated with an oral cavity is provided, the apparatus comprising: a three-dimensional oral appliance; a data collection device having at least one sensor and/or hydrogel like material configured to sense the information associated with the oral cavity; an interface device cooperatively coupled to the data collection device, the interface device configured to transfer the information from the sensor device to a receiving device external to the oral cavity or the entire device is analyzed.
System and method for detecting ventilatory depression and for prompting a patient to breathe
A system and method for prompting a patient experiencing ventilatory depression to breathe includes at least one sensor for detecting ventilatory depression by detecting inadequate breathing or lack of breathing in the patient. The system also includes one or more sensors for determining the type of breathing problem experienced by the patient. A sensor for detecting motion of the patient is used to determine whether the patient is moving. If inadequate or a lack of breathing is detected and the patient is not moving, the system provides verbal prompts or tactile stimuli to prompt the patient to breathe to improve patient ventilation.
Pseudo food texture presentation device, pseudo food texture presentation method, and program
The number n of times of chewing is counted by chewing number of times calculation means (13b.sub.2) based on a change in the distance l from a photoreflector (50), which is received together with time t by measurement value receiving means (13b.sub.1). To vary hardness h of a bag (30) to a stage that can be sensed, according to the number n of times of chewing, a required air pressure is set according to the current number n of times, based on a hardness/air pressure correspondence recording unit (13g) in which stages that have a significant difference therebetween and are stored in association with the number n of times of chewing are recorded. To realize the set air pressure inside the bag (30), the amount of sucking performed using a vacuum pump 20 is controlled by air pressure control means (13b.sub.4).
Intra-oral electroencephalography device and method
An oral appliance for the treatment of sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, in a user is presented. The oral appliance may include a mouthpiece configured to receive a user's dentition. The mouthpiece may include an oxygen sensor, a pressure sensor, an airflow sensor, an actigraphy sensor, a noise detector, and at least one stimulator for providing stimulation to a user's tongue in the event of decreased oxygen saturation levels, increased pressure applied to occlusal surfaces of the user's dentition, decreased actual airflow levels and/or increased noise levels. The mouthpiece or a separate portion of the mouthpiece may be provided with an EEG sensor to determine sleep state based on EEG rhythms. The mouthpiece may be provided with pharmaceutical compound reservoirs that deliver pharmaceutical compounds to the oral mucosa of the user, which compounds treat symptoms of sleep apnea. The mouthpiece may further include a microprocessor that receives data from the oxygen sensor, pressure sensor, airflow sensor, actigraphy sensor and noise detector, and activates the at least one stimulator and/or pharmaceutical compound reservoirs.
Feeding transition nipple mechanism and system
A feeding transition system for transitioning an infant subject to oral feeding includes at least one no-flow nipple and at least one flow nipple. The no-flow nipple has a fully enclosed tip portion such that no fluid can flow directly from the nipple cavity through the nipple wall. The flow nipple is formed of a no-flow nipple having an aperture formed in the tip portion for flowing fluid from the nipple cavity through the nipple wall. The system includes a bolus delivery nipple formed of a no-flow nipple including a bolus delivery conduit disposed in the nipple cavity and in fluid communication with a reservoir of fluid.
