METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CLASSIFICATION OF COGNITIVE LOAD USING DATA OBTAINED FROM WEARABLE SENSORS

This disclosure relates generally to a method and system for classification of cognitive load (CL) using data obtained from wearable sensors. The disclosed method uses a multi-modal based approach using wrist-worn sensors for real time monitoring of CL in real world scenarios and improves the accuracy of detection of CL. A set of distinguishing features are selected from physiological signals received from the wrist-worn sensors. These features are used for training a classification model for classifying the CL of a patient into a no load or a high load. The set of distinguishing features are selected from domain specific features and signal property based generic features of the physiological signals. The disclosed method is used for classification of CL in scenarios such as to check how the cognitive load of a candidate varies during interviews, to assess the participants workload during online meetings and so on.

ARRAY TYPE SKIN-CONFORMAL SENSOR FOR HEART RATE AND BODY TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT AND HEART RATE AND BODY TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT APPARATUS
20220409067 · 2022-12-29 ·

Disclosed are an array type skin-conformal sensor for heart rate and body temperature measurement, the array type skin-conformal sensor including a base sheet configured to be attached to the skin in tight contact therewith, the base sheet being made of a skin-conformal material, a measurement portion formed at one surface of the base sheet, the measurement portion being deformed by deformation of the skin, whereby resistance of the measurement portion is changed, and an electrode pattern formed at one surface of the base sheet, one end of the electrode pattern being connected to the measurement portion to transmit a change in resistance of the measurement portion, and a heart rate and body temperature measurement apparatus using the same. Since the skin-conformal sensor is attached to the skin in tight contact therewith, it is possible to measure the heart rate even though a blood vessel is deeply located.

Method of searching optimal zones for electropulse therapy (variants)

The invention comprises providing electric stimuli, which are generated by forming the following ringing circuit: active electrode—inductive storage unit—passive electrode—interelectrode tissues—active electrode, the electric stimuli creating oscillations which are used as a test signal. In one variant of the method, the electrodes are successively applied (in another variant—moved uniformly) across the skin area. Every time the electrodes-to-skin contact is detected, the oscillation parameters are recorded after a delay. Moreover, the values of parameters can be averaged. The invention allows for both combined and disjointed (i.e. separated) electrode placement. An optimal zone for electropulse therapy is identified by a minimal or maximal value of one or more parameters of the aforementioned oscillations and the use of the principle of small asymmetry. The invention further provides for an increase in the accuracy with which zones optimal for electropulse therapy are identified and localized.

Vital sign monitoring via touchscreen using bioelectric impedance

Methods and apparatus for detecting body vital signs through the use of a Bioelectric Impedance Spectroscopy (BIS), either by (a) direct contact with the person (such as through one or more of their fingers) or (b) measurement of reflections from a field projected into the person's body. The techniques may be implemented using the projected capacitive touch array in a device such as the screen of a smartphone or tablet computer, or the touchpad of a laptop computer.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ESTABLISHING ABSENCE OF PAIN IN A MAMMAL
20220401020 · 2022-12-22 ·

A method and an apparatus for establishing absence of pain in a human or other mammal have been disclosed. The method comprises the steps of providing a skin conductance signal measured at an area of the mammal's skin through a time interval; detecting peaks in the skin conductance signal through said time interval; determining a rate of the peaks through the time interval; comparing the determined rate of peaks with a predetermined reference value; and if the measured rate of peaks is lower than the predetermined reference value, providing an output signal as indicating the state of absence of pain in the mammal.
