LUMINAL IMPEDANCE DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED CIRCUIT MODULES
Impedance devices with integrated circuit modules and method of using the same to obtain luminal organ information. In one embodiment, a device comprises an elongated body for at least partial insertion into a mammalian luminal organ and having a first conductor extending therethrough, a proximal electrical unit connected to the elongated body to deliver power along the first conductor, and a sensor substrate located at or near a distal end of the elongated body and comprising a circuit module operable and/or configured to direct the sizing portion to obtain sizing data and the pressure sensor to obtain pressure data, and facilitate transmission of the sizing data and/or the pressure data to the proximal electrical unit.
Device and implantation system for electrical stimulation of biological systems
The present specification discloses devices and methodologies for the treatment of GERD. Individuals with GERD may be treated by implanting a stimulation device within the patient's lower esophageal sphincter and applying electrical stimulation to the patient's lower esophageal sphincter, in accordance with certain predefined protocols. The presently disclosed devices have a simplified design because they do not require sensing systems capable of sensing when a person is engaged in a wet swallow, have improved energy storage requirements, enable improved LES function while concurrently delivering additional health benefits, and enable improved LES function post stimulation termination.
Devices, systems, and methods for diagnosis and treatment of overactive bladder
A system for modulating bladder function is disclosed. A system for evaluating the electrophysiological function of a bladder is disclosed. Methods for performing a controlled surgical procedure on a bladder are disclosed. A system for performing controlled surgical procedures in a minimally invasive manner is disclosed. An implantable device for monitoring and/or performing a neuromodulation procedure on a bladder is disclosed.

Characterizing and identifying biological structure
Embodiments described relate to techniques for identifying and characterizing biological structures using machine learning techniques. These techniques may be employed to enable a device to identify the particular type of tissue and/or cells (e.g., platelets, smooth muscle cells, or endothelial cells) in, for example, a biological structure, which may be a tissue or a lesion of a duct (e.g., vasculature) in an animal (e.g., a human or non-human animal), among other structures. The machine learning techniques may use raw impedance spectroscopy measurement data in addition to values derived from that raw data. In addition, the machine learning techniques may be used to select frequencies at which to measure impedance and select features to extract from the measured impedance at the selected frequencies to arrive at a small set of frequencies that allow for reliable differentiation.

METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR MEASURING MOVEMENT OF SUBSTANCES/BOLUS IN A TUBULAR ORGAN
This patent application provides a method and equipment for promoting measurement of movement of substances/bolus in a tubular organ and for use in the impedance phase reading in the esophagus, thus integrating the field of exams performed for medical diagnoses, particularly for carrying out in the esophagus. The method is characterized by taking the difference between tension and current (impedance phase) as a parameter in the Impedance audiometry exam, from an excited element with alternate current; the proposed method uses a probe (5) defined by a flexible insulating catheter (1), including metallic rings (2) that is introduced in the organ (3) to be examined; the metallic rings (2) are connected by wires (4) that run internally through the probe (5) defined by the flexible insulating catheter (1); the probe (5) is connected to an equipment (6) that applies an electric excitation to the metallic rings (2) which act as electrodes.
