Light dot sight

With a light dot sight (100) that can be affixed in the region of the surface of a breech of a firearm. The sight has a partially transparent reflector element (110) which reflects the parallel light of a light source (120) mounted on the firearm, into the eye of the shooter to focus to a point on the retina of the shooter. Obstruction of a field of view of the shooter directed to a special event is avoided in that the undersurface (111) of the partially transparent reflector element (110) has a width which has dimensions for directly and robustly anchoring the reflector element (110) in the region of the surface of the breech by means of a fastener.

OPTICAL SENSOR WITH RING-SHAPED Tx/Rx APERTURE SHARING ELEMENT (ASE)
20220120861 · 2022-04-21 ·

Optical sensors and particularly gimbaled optical sensors transmit an active signal at a given wavelength(s) and receive passive signals over a range of wavelengths and the active signal in a common aperture. The sensor includes a Tx/Rx Aperture Sharing Element (ASE) configured with an annular region that couples an active signal having a ring-shaped energy distribution to the telescope for transmission and a center region that couples the passive emissions and the returned active signal to the detector. A beam shaping element such as an Axicon lens, LCWG, Risley Prism, Unstable Optical Resonator or MEMS MMA may be used to form or trace the ring-shaped active signal onto the annular region of the ASE. A focusing optic may be used to reduce the divergence of the active signal so that it is collimated or slightly converging when transmitted such that the returned active signal approximates a spot. A filter wheel may be positioned behind the ASE to present separate passive and active images to the detector. These optical sensors may, for example, be used with guided munitions or autonomous vehicles.

Surveying device, and calibration checking method and calibration checking program for surveying device

A technique is provided to enable check of a calibrated condition of a total station (TS) having a laser scanner in a surveying site. The TS includes an optical system for sighting an object, a laser positioning part that irradiates the object with laser light via the optical system to position the object, and a plane crossing location identifying part that identifies a crossing location of multiple planes constituting a three-dimensional structure as a first location, on the basis of the positioning result from the laser positioning part. The TS also includes a laser scanner that performs laser scanning in an area containing the crossing location, a plane crossing location calculator that calculates the crossing location as a second location on the basis of laser scanning data from the laser scanner, and a comparing part that compares the first location and the second location with each other.

Viewing optic with an integrated display system

The disclosure relates to a viewing optic. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system. In one embodiment, the disclosure relates to a viewing optic having an integrated display system for generating images that are projected into the first focal plane of an optical system.

Pointing system for manual telescope

An optical device such as a telescope may be oriented to view a subject. In one embodiment, an image capture device may be coupled to the optical device, and used to generate image data of a reference subject. The image data may be used to ascertain a first orientation of the optical device. A second orientation of the optical device, at which the subject is viewable using the optical device, may be ascertained. A rotation of the optical device needed to reorient the optical device from the first orientation to the second orientation may be calculated. Instructions may be outputted to the user, indicating how the user can apply the rotation to the optical device.

WEAPON SYSTEM WITH MULTI-FUNCTION SINGLE-VIEW SCOPE

Certain aspects of a novel weapon sight system combine a direct view, a visible light video view, and an infrared (IR) video view mode. Each of the view modes may be viewed individually or simultaneously with one or more of the other view modes through a single viewing aperture. Further, the one or more view-modes may be provided while providing a bore-sighted reticle superimposed on the selected view. Further, the reticle may be powered separately from the video view electronics enabling use of the reticle regardless of the power status video view electronics.

A sighting arrangement, comprising an illuminated mark and a prism system consisting of a first prism and a second prism which are connected to each other via a dichroic reflector surface, the prism system comprising a sight axis and a superimposition axis for imaging the illuminated mark onto a sighted target. The bottom surface, via which the imaging beam path emanating from the illuminated mark is coupled into the prism system, and the convexly curved mirror surface, which is absolutely necessary for collimating the imaging beam path, are located on the same side of the prism system, namely on the mounting side facing a device on which the prism system is mounted as intended. As a result, the prism system has a flat top surface which does not limit the field of view section determined by the visible edges of the prism system.
