Hermetic seal and a method of assembling
09835855 · 2017-12-05 · ·

A hermetic seal between an optical element and a metal mount or housing using a fluoropolymer. The fluoropolymer is dispersed along the interior edge of the metal mount. The metal mount and fluoropolymer are then heated to a temperature exceeding the melting point of the fluoropolymer. Once heated the optical element is pressed into the metal mount and allowed to cool. The metal mount, optical element and thickness of fluoropolymer are sized to provide an interference fit between the metal mount and optical element.

Endoscope and manufacturing method of endoscope

An endoscope which promotes downsizing and cost reduction, and a manufacturing method of an endoscope are provided. For this reason, in an endoscope, a lens unit containing a lens in a lens tube, an image capturing element of which an image capturing surface is covered with element cover glass, and an adhesive resin fixing the lens unit of which an optical axis of the lens is coincident with the center of the image capturing surface to the element cover glass with a separation portion are disposed.

Systems and methods are providing for endoscopically visualizing tissue within a patient. In one aspect, an endoscope comprises an elongate shaft having a distal end and a proximal end and a visualization section at the distal end of the shaft. The visualization section includes a proximal surface and an outer surface spaced apart from the proximal surface. At least one of the proximal surface or the outer surface of the visualization section has an average surface roughness less than about 50 nanometers RMS. The endoscope allows improved remote visualization while not interfering with the autofocus feature of a video capture system and not causing increased light reflectance and glare due to improved surface finish.

IMAGE PICKUP UNIT

An endoscope includes: an operation portion provided continuously with a proximal end of a rigid insertion portion having a longitudinal axis; an optical element disposed at a distal end part of the insertion portion so as to be rotationally movable around a first shaft perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and a second shaft parallel to the longitudinal axis; a single operation member disposed at the operation portion and swingable forward, backward, leftward, and rightward around a third shaft and a fourth shaft perpendicular to each other; a first transmission member that transmits a rotational force around the first shaft to the optical element by a tilting operation of the operation member around the third shaft; and a second transmission member that transmits a rotational force around the second shaft to the optical element by a tilting operation of the operation member around the fourth shaft.

OPTICAL SCANNING ENDOSCOPE APPARATUS
20170311779 · 2017-11-02 · ·

This optical scanning endoscope apparatus can correct the white balance even when bending occurs in the illumination fiber. An optical scanning endoscope apparatus includes an illumination fiber that guides illumination light composed of RGB wavelengths (colors), an actuator that drives the tip of the illumination fiber and repeatedly scans the illumination light over an object, a photodetector that detects light obtained from the object by scanning of the illumination light, a signal processor that generates an image based on output of the photodetector, and a light amount detector for white balance that detects the light amount of light of RGB wavelengths from a portion of the illumination light guided by the illumination fiber. Based on the light amount of light of each of the RGB wavelengths detected by the light amount detector for white balance, the controller adjusts the white balance of the generated image.
