Methods and systems for accessing and diagnosing diseased lung compartments are disclosed. Methods may comprise introducing a diagnostic catheter with an occluding member at its distal end into a lung segment; inflating the occluding member to isolate the lung compartment; and performing a diagnostic procedure with the catheter. The proximal end of the diagnostic catheter is configured to be attached to a console. Methods may also include allowing air to enter the lung compartment through the passage in the catheter while the patient is inhaling and blocking air from being expelled from the lung compartment through the catheter passage while the patient is exhaling by using a one-way flow element adapted to be disposed within or in-line with the passage of the catheter so that flow in a proximal-to-distal direction is allowed and flow in a distal-to-proximal direction is inhibited or prevented.

Spacer device with flow rate spirometer

The present invention provides a spacer device having a flow rate spirometer. The flow rate indicator allows users to use a measured, consistent flow rate leading to improved synchronicity and actuation.

Smart oscillating positive expiratory pressure device

An oscillating positive expiratory pressure system including an oscillating positive expiratory pressure device having a chamber, an input component in communication with the chamber, wherein the input component is operative to sense a flow and/or pressure and generate an input signal correlated to the flow or pressure, a processor operative to receive the input signal from the input component and generate an output signal, and an output component operative to receive the output signal, and display an output.

Respiratory flow sensor

The invention relates to a respiratory flow sensor comprising a flow pipe, which has a flow channel and, on the free ends thereof, hose connections for hoses, comprising a cover flap, which is arranged in the flow channel and divides the flow channel into a first flow channel portion and into a second flow channel portion, and comprising connections, which lead into the flow channel on both sides of the cover flap and serve for the reduction of the differential pressure created by the cover flap. Provision is made in the flow channel for a water drainage device, which comprises drainage grooves. The cover flap has a hinge region, which is formed by a first slot and a second slot, which is embodied in an H-shaped manner.

SPACER DEVICE WITH FLOW RATE SPIROMETER

The present invention provides a spacer device having a flow rate spirometer. The flow rate indicator allows users to use a measured, consistent flow rate leading to improved synchronicity and actuation.
