SPIROMETER
The chronic nature of asthma necessitates regular self-monitoring of respiratory function in susceptible individuals, however the available devices for performing the necessary measurements are either inaccurate or expensive and bulky. The present invention provides a small, cheap spirometer for efficient, accurate and convenient measurement of breathing characteristics.
Acoustic spirometer system
Embodiments of the present invention are directed a system using a microphone and a mobile computer device comprising a transducer through which a user is to exhale or inhale; the transducer is configured and operable to convert the spirometric flow rate into an audible signal having an audio frequency responsive to the spirometric flow rate, wherein the transducer comprises a rotor including a plurality of rotor blades configured to rotate the rotor responsive to a spirometric flow; wherein the microphone is external to the transducer and is adapted to detect the audible signal having the audio frequency and to convert the audible signal to a corresponding electrical signal having the audio frequency.

Breathing-driven flexible respiratory sensor and preparation method thereof
A breathing-driven flexible respiratory sensor includes: a test cavity and a digital electrometer, wherein an upper internal wall of the test cavity is provided with an upper detecting component, and a lower internal wall of the test cavity is provided with a lower detecting component; the upper detecting component and the lower detecting component is arranged in a longitudinal symmetry form; wherein the upper detecting component comprises a substrate, an electrode and a gas sensitive film bonded in sequence from top to bottom, and the substrate is bonded to the upper internal wall of the test cavity; wherein a rubber airbag is disposed in the test cavity, and a friction film is bonded to the rubber airbag; an air inlet cylinder is connected to a left end of the rubber airbag, and an air outlet cylinder is connected to a right end of the rubber airbag.
INHALATION DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED ELECTRONICS
A device for delivering medication to a user may include a circular or elliptical body that include a mouthpiece, a flexible strip of medication, a lever, and a mouthpiece cover, where the mouthpiece cover is rotatable about the body. The electronics module may include a communication circuit, a sensor system, and a switch. The lever may be configured to actuate the switch when the lever is moved from a closed position to an open position. The lever is configured to advance a dose of medication on the flexible strip when moved from the closed position to the open position. When actuated, the switch may be configured to switch the electronics module from an off state to an active state wen the lever is actuated for a first time by a user. Thereafter, the electronics module is configured to not return to the off state.
Breathing biofeedback device
Disclosed are biofeedback methods and devices suitable for providing biofeedback useful for helping a user control an own breathing, for example, to help in inducing deep breathing, and such biofeedback devices further comprising a dispenser for dispensing an inhalable substance.
INHALATION OF NITRIC OXIDE
A method of treating a human subject which is effected by inhalation of gaseous nitric oxide over a period of 8 day to about 28 days is disclosed. The method can be utilized for treating a human subject suffering from, or prone to suffer from, a disease or disorder that is manifested in the respiratory tract, or from a disease or disorder that can be treated via the respiratory tract. The disclosed method can be effected while monitoring one or more of on-site and off-site parameters such as vital signs, methemoglobin levels, pulmonary function parameters, blood chemistry and hematological parameters, blood coagulation parameters, inflammatory marker levels, liver and kidney function parameters and vascular endothelial activation parameters, such that no substantial deviation from a baseline in seen in one or more of the monitored parameters.
A COLLECTING DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR COLLECTION OF AIRBORNE PARTICLES FROM A FLOW OF AIR
A collecting device (200) for collecting airborne particles comprises: a first (202) and second layer (220) spaced apart for forming a particle collection chamber (240) therebetween, wherein inlets (210) extend through the first layer (202) for transporting a flow of air into the particle collection chamber (240); wherein ends (214) of the inlets (210) face a first surface (222) of the second layer (220) for capturing airborne particles by impaction; wherein outlets (230) extend through the second layer (220) for transporting the flow of air out of the particle collection chamber (240); wherein the inlets (210) and outlets (230) are staggered such that the center axes of the inlets (210) and outlets (230) are displaced from each other; wherein the flow of air experiences a pressure drop lower than 3 kPa at a flow rate of 0.5 liters per second, when the flow of air passes the collecting device (200).
Breathing biofeedback device
Disclosed are biofeedback methods and devices suitable for providing biofeedback useful for helping a user control an own breathing, for example, to help in inducing deep breathing, and such biofeedback devices further comprising a dispenser for dispensing an inflatable substance.
