Method for creating custom orthopedic supports from computerized data inputs
Systems and methods of measuring feet and designing and creating orthopedic inserts are described. A leg length discrepancy of a user is measured and this data, along with foot size are input into a computer. The computer then creates a computer model of a custom shoe insert based on this information. The computer model is then sent to a 3D printer to print the insert. The insert consists of a base insert with partial correction, and several additional layers that are added successively over time until a full correction is obtained. This eliminates any pain associated with a fully corrective insert, and allows the body to adjust gradually to the correction.
Physiological assessment scale
Physiological assessment scale systems and methods are implemented using a variety of approaches. According to one implementation, a scale measures the physiological data of a user engaging sensor circuitry on a platform region of the scale. In a physiological assessment mode, physiological data of the user is detected at respective states of physical exertion. The physiological data is then processed by user-targeted circuitry to determine physiological parameters of the user pertaining to the respective physical exertion states, such as may pertain to an increase in exertion or a reduction in exertion. These physiological parameters may, for example, be used to provide an indication of the physical health and fitness of the user. Such parameters may then be associated with the user and saved to a data-access circuit, and also forwarded to a display which communicates the physiological parameters among other information to the user through the platform region.
Method of manufacturing a shoe insole
A method of manufacturing a shoe insole includes an upper cover layer and a lower cover layer conforming in shape to the inner bottom of the shoe, and an insole body retained between the upper cover layer and the lower cover layer, taking a foot sole form to which pads are applied to selected regions of a sole taking a foot sole form; manufacturing an insole frame having a shape conforming to a three-dimensional shape of the foot sole form and applying insole pads to an upper surface of the insole frame, based on positions of marks of the test pads of the foot sole form to which the pads are applied, wherein the insole body includes the insole frame to which the insole pads are applied.
Foot measuring and sizing application
Systems and processes for measuring and sizing a foot are provided. In one exemplary process, at least one image of a foot and a horizontal reference object from a first point of view is captured. A portion of the foot may be disposed against a vertical reference object. The at least one image may be displayed, where one or more camera guides are overlaid on the at least one displayed image. In response to aligning the one or more camera guides with one or more of the horizontal reference object and the vertical reference object, a measurement of the foot based on the at least one captured image from the first point of view is determined.
FOOTWEAR WITH TRACTION ELEMENTS
The invention relates to articles of footwear having traction elements, and systems and methods for manufacturing same. An example shoe includes an upper and a sole plate, the sole plate including a lower surface adapted for ground contact having a first sole portion including first traction elements, the first traction elements having a distal end and a side wall with extensions extending from a central core, and a second sole portion including second traction elements, the second traction elements having at least one geometrical feature differing in one or more aspects from a corresponding geometrical feature of the first traction elements.
CUSTOMIZED FOOTWEAR, AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING SAME
The invention relates to devices and methods for designing and manufacturing customized footwear, and components thereof. An example method includes a method of designing at least a portion of a sole of an article of footwear customized for a user. The method includes the steps of determining at least one input parameter related to a user, analyzing the at least one input parameter to determine at least one performance metric of a foot of the user, and determining at least one customized structural characteristic of at least a portion of a sole of an article of footwear for the user based on the performance metric.
