THORACIC ENDOSCOPE FOR SURFACE SCANNING
A surgical apparatus is provided including an endoscope, a camera, a light source, and a structured light pattern source. The endoscope includes an elongate body having a plurality of segments manipulatable relative to one another. The camera, light source, and structured light pattern source cooperate to determine the topography of a surface within a patient. A method of performing surgery is also provided.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF FEET
The present invention is a system and method for identifying certain physical properties of human feet. The system uses electronic and optical elements to perform before and after pronation test and before and after arch tests (meaning before and after use of an orthotic), and develop a 360 degree, three-dimensional view of the foot.
DETECTION DEVICE, FIRST DETECTION SYSTEM, AND SECOND DETECTION SYSTEM
A detection device is a detection device for estimating the occurrence of an allergic reaction, and includes a detection section which noninvasively acquires information of an internal skin or a skin surface as detection data for estimating the allergic reaction. The detection section includes a skin temperature detection section which detects a skin temperature, and at least one detection section which acquires the detection data other than the skin temperature.
DENTAL INTRAORAL SCANNER SYSTEM
The present invention generally relates to a dental intraoral scanner system. In detail, the present invention includes: a scan unit sequentially imaging an intraoral structure in a scan mode; a control unit generating a three-dimensional modeling image for each scan mode by using the imaged intraoral structure; and a display unit displaying the three-dimensional modeling image, wherein the control unit switches the scan unit from a present scan mode to a following scan mode according to a user's command that is input through the scanning unit, or automatically switches from the present scan mode to the following scan mode when a three-dimensional modeling image of the present scan mode is completed.
Apparatus and method for imaging feet
An apparatus and method for determining contours of a patient's foot ankle and lower leg. The apparatus includes an alignment structure that orientates the foot for imaging. The alignment structure includes at least one support member that engages the plantar surface of the foot substantially only in the immediate area of the lateral metatarsal heads of the foot, preferably the fifth metatarsal head. The support generates a dorsally-directed force that locks the midtarsal joint. The alignment structure further includes a saddle that engages the rearfoot and a laser beam for aligning the second metatarsal head with the distal one-third of the lower leg to place the subtalar joint in a neutral condition. The foot is thus suspended in space such that imaging is able to produce an accurate measurement of the subject areas of the foot, ankle and lower leg without distortion of the soft tissues or bone structure.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSESSMENT OF NASAL DEVIATION AND ASYMMETRY
Systems and methods are provided for assessing nasal deviation and symmetry via the processing of facial surface data. Facial surface data may be processed to determine a nasal deviation measure indicative of a lateral deviation between a nasal midline and a facial midplane. The facial surface data may also be processed to determine a measure of nasal symmetry associated with a selected nasal surface region, such as an aesthetic subunit. Nasal deviation and symmetry information based on both measures may then be presented. In some example implementations, a single nasal symmetry measure is generated and present for a given nasal surface region. Reference surface data characterizing a reference symmetrical facial shape and having a defined facial direction relative to a coordinate system may be employed to align the facial surface data prior to the determination of the nasal deviation and nasal symmetry measures.
Imaging a Body
There is disclosed a device for imaging a body. In one arrangement, the device comprises a controller, storage storing electronic program instructions for controlling the controller, a display for displaying a user interface, and an input means. In one form, the controller is operable, under control of the electronic program instructions, to receive input via the input means, where the input comprises a first representation of the body, to process the first representation, to generate a second representation of the body on the basis of processing of the first representation, and to display the generated second representation via the display.
SCAN DATA RETRIEVAL WITH DEPTH SENSOR DATA
In scan data retrieval, a mesh is fit (32) to surface data of a current patient, such as data from an optical or depth sensor (18). Meshes are also fit (48) to medical scan data, such as fitting (48) to skin surface segments of computed tomography data. The meshes or parameters derived from the meshes may be more efficiently compared (34) to identify (36) a previous patient with similar body shape and/or size. The scan configuration (38) for that patient, or that patient as altered to account for differences from the current patient, is used. In some embodiments, the parameter vector used for searching (34) includes principle component analysis coefficients. In further embodiments, the principle component analysis coefficients may be projected to a more discriminative space using metric learning.
Skin Test Reading Device and Associated Systems and Methods
Exemplary embodiments are directed to skin test reading devices that include a housing and a short wave infrared (SWIR) detector. The SWIR detector can include a lens configured to enable the SWIR detector to capture an image of a skin testing area of a patient. The SWIR detector can be configured to detect a wheal formed on the skin testing area of the patient. Exemplary embodiments are also directed to methods of reading a skin test and skin test reading systems.
Patient supporting device, treatment apparatus with a patient supporting device and corresponding method for controlling and/or regulating a medical treatment device
The subject matter is a patient supporting device for supporting a patient during a medical treatment, in particular a dialysis treatment, and a treatment apparatus with such a patient supporting device, and a corresponding method for controlling and/or regulating a medical treatment device, in particular a dialysis device, using such a patient supporting device.
