APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MONITORING HYPOGLYCAEMIA CONDITION
An apparatus to monitor for hypoglycaemia in a human, the apparatus including: two or more sensors to concurrently measure two or more physical properties over time, the physical properties including one or more temperatures and/or one or more movements of an arm and/or a hand of the human; and an electronic system configured to: receive signals representative of the measured physical properties; and process the received signals to generate an output indicative of hypoglycaemia in the human.
BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY DETECTION SENSOR
A biological activity detection sensor is provided that includes a motion detection sensor that detects motion of a living body, a tremor sensor that detects a tremor of the living body, and a base member that can be mounted on the living body. The base member includes a first member that is deformable in accordance with a mounted state on the living body, and a second member that is less deformable than the first member. The tremor sensor is provided in the first member, and the motion detection sensor is provided in the second member.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREMOR DETECTION AND QUANTIFICATION
Systems and methods are disclosed for detecting tremors in a subject. One method comprises receiving data from a digital device, the data comprising a plurality of digital device positions and a plurality of timestamps, each timestamp in the plurality of timestamps being associated with a digital device position in the plurality of digital device positions. The method further comprises determining a plurality of frequencies of hand movements of the subject based on the plurality of digital device positions and plurality of timestamps. The method further comprises determining a subportion of the data corresponding to frequencies of hand movements above a low tremor threshold, and determining a magnitude of tremors of the subject's hand based, at least in part, on the subportion of the data.
WEARABLE DEVICE TO TREAT TREMOR
Devices, systems, and methods are provided to treat tremor in an outer extremity, typically a hand, of a subject. A wearable base or glove is provided with one or more tremor damping mechanisms, which can be of different or the same types, in the case of a plurality of tremor damping mechanisms. One or more frictional damping mechanisms can be provided and/or one or more tuned mass damping mechanisms can be provided. The frictional dampening mechanism can simply be the viscoelastic material of the wearable base that deforms and interferes with tremor movement. The frictional dampening mechanism can be one or more tension elements provided within the body of the wearable base. The tuned damping mechanism may comprise one or more resonators held within a housing coupled to the wearable base. The tremor damping mechanisms can be self-adjusting and/or adjustable by the wearer.
MONITORING FOR MOVEMENT DISORDERS USING UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES
Aspects include methods, systems and computer program products for evaluating a patient for a movement disorder. The method comprises defining a patient to be evaluated and deploying a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to a location of the patient. The UAV includes a patient evaluation feature and at least one sensor operably coupled to the patient evaluation feature. The UAV is positioned relative to the patient to measure a patient motor characteristic. The patient motor characteristic is measured with the at least one sensor. A movement disorder is determined based at least in part on the measured patient motor characteristic. A signal is transmitted based on the detecting the movement disorder.
Combined device that measures the body weight and balance index
The present invention relates to an apparatus for measuring the balance ability; postural deviation, reflex and fall risk assessment of a human subject. In particular, the present invention comprises of an elastic support mounted platform with dynamic response to external motion stimuli, a IMU and data analysis software processing device. The dynamic response from the platform also simulates realistic experience in moving over rough terrain with different topography.
Motion monitor
A system for monitoring the respiratory activity of a subject, which comprises one or more signal generating elements being kinematic or light emitting elements, applied to the thorax of a subject, for generating signals that are indicative of movement of the thorax of the subject; a receiver for receiving the generated signals during breathing motion of the subject; and one or more computing devices in data communication with the receiver, for analyzing the breathing motion. The more computing device is operable to calculate, in response to the received generated signals, the magnitude of a maximum displacement in 3D space of the one or more signal generating elements during a cycle of the breathing motion; and to calculate the magnitude of a current displacement in 3D space of the one or more signal generating elements during the breathing motion with respect to a reference tidal volume associated with the maximum displacement in 3D space.
CUSTOMIZATION OF BONE CONDUCTION HEARING DEVICES
The present invention relates to recipient customization of a bone conducting hearing device. Customization of the bone conducting hearing device may include attaching the bone conducting hearing device to a recipient, establishing communication between the hearing device and an external device, generating at least one control setting with the external device, and storing the at least one control setting in a memory device in the hearing device.
DISEASE AND FALL RISK ASSESSMENT USING DEPTH MAPPING SYSTEMS
An apparatus, system and process for tracking and analyzing target person movements, captured while the target person is performing ordinary tasks outside of a medical context, for medical diagnosis and treatment review are described. The method may include constructing a model of a target person from three-dimensional (3D) image data of the target person performing an activity over a period of time. The method may also include tracking movement of the model of the target person in the 3D image data over the period of time, and detecting one or more motion features in the movement of the model of the target person that are relevant to diagnosis, treatment, care, or a combination thereof, of a potential chronic neurodegenerative or musculoskeletal medical condition. The method may also include computing a risk score associated with likelihood of the target person having the medical condition based on the detected motion features.
Methods and Systems for Tremor Reduction
A tremor-reduction system is provided that delivers electric current to a body region of a subject that is associated with a tremor. A computing device stores received data associated with a tremulous movement of the body region and determines measurements associated with the stored data. If a magnitude of the most recent tremulous movement is the same as or greater than magnitudes associated with prior tremulous movements, characteristics of a subsequent electric current to be applied to the body region may be adjusted.
