STROKE SCALE ASSESSMENT
A stroke scale system includes a patient support apparatus having one or more pressure sensors that can be grasped by a patient, one or more motion detectors that detect movements of the patient, a display unit, an audio unit; and a controller. The stroke scale system performs a series of stroke scale examinations. At least one stroke scale examination instructs the patient to grasp a portion of the patient support apparatus, and the pressure sensors determine compliance with the instructions by measuring an applied pressure to the portion of the patient support apparatus. The stroke scale system calculates a stroke scale score by combining scores determined from the series of stroke scale examinations.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO ANALYZE WAVEFORMS FOR ELECTROMYOGRAPHY TESTING
A device includes an EMG processing application operable with a processing module to receive an output signal from EMG testing, wherein the output signal represents electrical activity of at least one muscle. The EMG processing application is operable to process the output signal to detect at least one type of waveform of a plurality of types of waveforms from the output signal and display the detected at least one type of waveform.
Probe for measuring a patient's bulbocavernosus muscle reflex
A method and system to obtain and process data indicative of muscle reflexes for screening and/or diagnosing a patient with a brain injury or spinal cord injury, and especially for obtaining and processing data indicative of reflexes from the bulbospongiosus muscle. Certain embodiments employ a novel electromechanical probe for stimulating the bulbospongiosus muscle to identify a time of the stimulation so that electrical responses from electrodes on the patient's skin can be identified for analysis.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM
Provided is an information processing apparatus capable of presenting information in a presentation way that allows each user to easily accept information. The information processing apparatus including a processing unit configured to present content to a user on a basis of sensor information acquired by a sensor configured to detect reaction of the user to a stimulus given to the user.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING AND MONITORING MEDICAL CONDITION AND IMPAIRMENT
A system and method for detection and monitoring of medical conditions and physical and/or cognitive impairments are provided. In embodiments, the system of the present invention utilizes inertial measurements and, in some embodiments, imaging to quantify body movements and conditions. In embodiments, the present system incorporates one or more inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors, a camera, computer vision, and a series of standardized body movements. In additional embodiments, the present system incorporates one or more IMU sensors and a series of standardized body movements without the use of a camera or computer vision. In embodiments, the present system creates and stores a personalized “digital twin” of a patient or subject's functional musculoskeletal capabilities. Such digital twin acts as a reference model of the patient or subject.
Sensing and stimulation system
A sensing and stimulation system includes a central hub, and a plurality of flexible arms extending from the central hub. Each of the arms includes at least one electrode and at least one sensor. Each of the arms is configured to perform sensing and stimulation including electrically stimulating biological material, and sensing biological responses and changes. The system includes a port configured to be alternatively connected to a remote control module for wireless operation of the system and a leaded connector for wired operation of the system.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IDENTIFYING A LOCATION FOR NERVE STIMULATION
A system and method for identifying a stimulation location on a nerve is disclosed. The system includes an image-based navigation interface used to facilitate advancing a stimulation element within a patient body toward a target nerve stimulation site. Using the system one determines, separately for each potential target nerve stimulation site, a neuromuscular response of muscles produced upon applying a stimulation signal at the respective separate potential target stimulation sites. The image-based navigation interface is configured to display a graphic identification of which muscles were activated for each respective potential target nerve stimulation site upon applying the stimulation signal.
NEURAL LOCATING METHOD
A nerve mapping system includes an elongate medical device, a non-invasive mechanical sensor, and a processor. The elongate medical device includes a distal end portion configured to explore an intracorporeal treatment area of a subject, and the distal end portion includes an electrode. The non-invasive mechanical sensor is configured to provide a mechanomyography output signal corresponding to a monitored mechanical response of a muscle innervated by the nerve. The processor is in communication with the electrode and the sensor, and is configured to provide a plurality of electrical stimuli to the electrode. Each of the plurality of stimuli is provided when the electrode is located at a different position within the intracorporeal treatment area. The processor determines the likelihood of a nerve existing at a particular point using the magnitudes of each of the stimuli and the detected response of the muscle.
External Defibrillator System Configured with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Rescue Treatment Guidance
An external defibrillator system including at least one chest compression sensor configured to obtain motion data indicative of chest compressions administered to the victim, an electrode assembly configured to be applied to the chest of the victim and obtain electrocardiogram (ECG) data, a capacitor configured to provide a defibrillation shock to the victim based on the ECG data, and at least one processor, configured to perform operations for analyzing the motion data and the ECG data to calculate chest compression parameters associated with treatment of chest compressions, determining a CPR treatment metric indicative of an overall CPR treatment, and generating a recommendation to change one or more chest compression parameters.
CHEMORECEPTOR STIMULUS FOR SEDATION STATUS ASCERTAINMENT
A system (SYS) and related method for imaging support. The system (SYS) comprises a stimulus delivery component (SDC) configured to cause a chemoreceptor stimulus in a patient residing in or at an imaging apparatus (IA). A response measuring component (RMC) measure a response of the patient to the stimulus, and a decision logic (DL) establishes, based on the measured response, a sedation status of the patient for the purpose of imaging the patient. An imaging operation can be modified, for instance, halted if the patient is no longer sufficiently sedated.
