MEDICAL IMAGING TOOTH DISPLACEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present disclosure relates to systems, computer programs, and methods employing oral cavity image capture for determining tooth displacement (e.g., for identifying patients with, or at risk for, periodontal disease). In certain embodiments, a medical imaging device or system (e.g., an intraoral scanner or other scanner) is employed to generate baseline and test scan images of at least one tooth, where the test scan is performed when the tooth in engaged with an opposing tooth in a chewing action, or is being pushed by an outside force, and the images are processed by a computer program to determine the amount of displacement of the tooth in at least one direction.
Device, system and method for movement tracking
The invention relates to a system for detecting the relative movement of body parts, the system having at least two subsystems, i.e. a first subsystem and a second subsystem, wherein the first subsystem is designed to be fastened to a first body part, for example the upper jaw, or a body region rigidly connected to the upper jaw, such as the skull, and the second subsystem is designed to be fastened to a second body part, for example the lower jaw, wherein the first body part and the second body part are movable relative to each other, and wherein the system comprises a movement sensor system and a calibration sensor system, wherein the movement sensor system is designed to detect the relative movement or relative positions of the first body part and the second body part across a movement range, for example by generating data from which the movement trajectory or course of the relative movement of the first body part and of the second body part can be obtained or is obtained, and the calibration sensor system is designed to determine the relative position of the first body part relative to the second body part if (for example only if and/or always if) the first body part and the second body part are arranged relative to each other, preferably close to each other, in a calibration region.
Customized aligner change indicator
According to the techniques herein, one or more sensors coupled to an aligner are used to sense one or more physical qualities of the aligner to determine whether the physical qualities indicate that the aligner material has relaxed and has, e.g., reduced the force systems applied to teeth and/or that the teeth movement for the stage has slowed down. The sensors may provide a signal that represents whether or not the physical qualities fall below a threshold value. A treatment plan may be modified if needed. These techniques have the potential to make treatment plans faster and more effective by speeding up some stages while making sure some, perhaps other, stages are implemented only after the teeth are near the appropriate position.
BIOSENSOR PERFORMANCE INDICATOR FOR INTRAORAL APPLIANCES
Methods and apparatuses for monitoring either or both the performance of an orthodontic appliance for repositioning a patient's teeth and/or the user compliance in wearing the appliance using a biosensor. The apparatuses described herein may include one or more sensors, including biosensors, electrical sensors, or both, configured to generate sensor data related to user compliance and/or repositioning of the patient's teeth by an orthodontic appliance.
System and method for determining structural characteristics of an object
The present invention relates generally to a system and method for measuring the structural characteristics of an object. The object is subjected to an energy application processes and provides an objective, quantitative measurement of structural characteristics of an object. The system may include a device, for example, a percussion instrument, capable of being reproducibly placed against the object undergoing such measurement for reproducible positioning. The system does not include an external on/off switch or any remote on/off switching mechanism. The system also includes a disposable feature or assembly for minimizing cross-contamination between tests. The structural characteristics as defined herein may include vibration damping capacities, acoustic damping capacities, structural integrity or structural stability.
The structural characteristics as defined herein may include vibration damping capacities, acoustic damping capacities, structural integrity or structural stability.
Closed loop adaptive orthodontic treatment methods and apparatuses
Method and Apparatuses for monitoring progress of an orthodontic treatment plan and automatically or semi-automatically modifying the orthodontic treatment plan. The orthodontic treatment plan may be monitored by sensors on one or more appliance in the treatment plan, and may be monitored if the sensed data deviates from the expected treatment plan.
DETECTING AND MONITORING DEVELOPMENT OF A DENTAL CONDITION
A method, user interface and system for detecting and monitoring development of a dental condition. In particular, detecting and monitoring such a development by comparing digital 3D representations of the patient's set of teeth recorded at a first and a second point in time. For example, determining tooth movement for at least one tooth between the first and second point in time based on derived distances.
INTRA-ORAL DEVICE FOR FACILITATING COMMUNICATION
A method comprising determining, by a processing system, based on a first oral gesture detected by an intra-oral device located in a mouth of a user, an intended communication partner from among a plurality of available communication partners; determining, by the processing system, a message based on a series of one or more second oral gestures detected by the intra-oral device; and sending, by the processing system, the message to a communication device associated with the intended communication partner.
ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT USING AN ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT PLAN
A method for obtaining an orthodontic treatment plan is provided. The method comprises obtaining a treatment plan for treatment of a tooth of a patient, the treatment plan including two or more stage force values, wherein each of the two or more stage force values is based on a target orthodontic force value that is based on one or more determinate points of periodontal ligament (PDL) behavior data. For each of the two or more stage force values, the method includes determining configuration parameters for configuring an orthodontic appliance to apply the stage force value to a tooth of the patient; and, using the configuration parameters to manufacture an orthodontic appliance configured to apply the stage force value.
