Projection mapped augmentation of mechanically animated objects
A display system configured to provide projection mapped augmentation of mechanically animated objects. These mechanically animated objects may take the form of a screen assembly with a projection surface, and a screen actuator may be included in the display system that is operated by a controller to move, to expand, or other otherwise operate the screen assembly so as to modify or morph the projection surface to move and/or change its shape and/or size. Hence, the screen assembly is animated. The display system further includes a projector operated by the controller, in a synchronized manner with the screen actuator, to project content onto the projection surface as it is moved and/or has its shape and/or size changed over time. The projected content is mapped to the various states and movement of the projection surface to avoid blow-by and to suit the changes of the projection surface.
PRISM UNIT AND PROJECTOR
A prism unit includes a first prism and a second prism. The first prism includes a first optical surface that allows the illumination light to enter the prism, a second optical surface that reflects the illumination light that entered through the first optical surface, and a third optical surface that allows the illumination light reflected by the second optical surface to exit the prism. The second prism includes a fourth optical surface that forms a first air gap with the second optical surface and allows the illumination light that exited through the second optical surface to enter the prism, and a fifth optical surface that allows the illumination light that entered through the fourth optical surface to exit the prism.
TRANSPARENT SCREEN
A transparent screen includes a substrate capable of transmitting light; and a plurality of dots formed on a surface of the substrate, each of the dots having wavelength-selective reflectivity and being formed of a liquid crystal material having a cholesteric structure, in which the cholesteric structure gives a striped pattern of bright parts and dark parts in a cross-sectional view of the dot observed by a scanning electron microscope, the dot includes a portion having a height that increases continuously to the maximum height in a direction extending from the edge toward the center of the dot, the angle formed by the normal line to a line that is formed by a first one of the dark parts as counted from the surface of the dot on the opposite side of the substrate and the surface of the dot, in the portion, is in the range of 70 to 90, and a plurality of dot row units in which two or more dots are adjacently arranged along one direction are formed.
PROJECTION DISPLAYS
A locally dimmed display has a spatial light modulator illuminated by a light source. The spatial light modulator is illuminated with a low resolution version of a desired image. The illumination may comprise a series of lighting elements that vary smoothly from one element to another at the spatial light modulator.
MULTILAYERED SCREENS FOR SCANNING BEAM DISPLAY SYSTEMS
A display screen includes a filter layer, a fluorescent layer having parallel fluorescent stripes, and an attachment layer between an excitation side of the fluorescent layer and a first side of the filter layer to attach the excitation side of fluorescent layer to the filter layer while providing vertical separation therebetween. The attachment layer includes attachment regions that are separated from each other by lateral spacings such that excitation-side air gaps are formed between areas of the fluorescent layer and the filter layer that correspond to the lateral spacings. During display operation, excitation light received on a second side of the filter layer propagates through to the first side of the filter layer, and at least a portion of the excitation light that propagates from the second side of the filter layer travels through the excitation-side air gaps to excite the fluorescent stripes.
Active video projection screen
Instead of a monochromatic projection screen, an active projection screen is provided which varies reflectance and gray level (black to white) in synchronization with the content being shown. Groups of multiple screen pixels, which are smaller than each projected pixel from the projector, are assigned to each respective larger projection pixel.
Video display with photo-luminescent dyes
A video display system includes a light source configured to generate light and a substrate having a plurality of pixels deposited on a first side of the substrate. Each of the pixels is formed from a plurality of photo-luminescent dyes, and the light source is configured to project light onto the first side of the substrate to illuminate at least a subset of the photo-luminescent dyes in a raster pattern to generate an image. In another embodiment omitting the substrate, the photo-luminescent dyes forming the pixels are deposited directly onto a screen.
Wearable projection apparatus and projection method
A wearable projection apparatus and a projection method are provided, and the projection method comprises: acquiring color distribution information and brightness distribution information of a plurality of regions of a hand; determining modified color output parameters according to the acquired color distribution information of the regions of the hand and preset standard color information, and determining modified brightness output parameters according to the acquired brightness distribution information of the regions of the hand; controlling a projection module to output an image according to the determined color output parameters and the determined brightness output parameters. With the wearable projection apparatus and the projection method provided by embodiments of the present invention, an image projected by the wearable projection apparatus on the hand can have relatively higher uniformity in color and brightness.
PROJECTION SYSTEM AND SCREEN THEREOF
A projection system including a projection apparatus and a screen is provided. The projection apparatus is adapted to output a plurality of exciting beams respectively having a plurality of different wavebands. The screen is disposed on a transmission path of the exciting beams. The screen includes a plurality of fluorescence material layers and at least one gas barrier layer. The fluorescence material layers are adapted to be excited by the exciting beams to emit image beams respectively having different wavebands, so as to form an image frame. The gas barrier layer covers the fluorescence material layers.
