PATIENT-WORN WIRELESS PHYSIOLOGICAL SENSOR
A wireless, patient-worn, physiological sensor configured to, among other things, help manage a patient that is at risk of forming one or more pressure ulcers is disclosed. According to an embodiment, the sensor includes a base having a top surface and a bottom surface. The sensor also includes a substrate layer including conductive tracks and connection pads, a top side, and a bottom side, where the bottom side of the substrate layer is disposed above the top side of the base. Mounted on the substrate layer are a processor, a data storage device, a wireless transceiver, an accelerometer, and a battery. In use, the sensor senses a patient's motion and wirelessly transmits information indicative of the sensed motion to, for example, a patient monitor. The patient monitor receives, stores, and processes the transmitted information.
Method and Device for Diagnosing Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury Susceptibility
Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for the purpose of quantitatively determining the susceptibility of a human subject to injure their Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). A method for determining injury susceptibility scores or risk categories includes determining hip extension angles and knee varus angles during the performance of a stork test and determining hip abduction angles during a squat test. Determination of angles during certain movements may be achieved using various systems and devices, including wearable devices.
INTERLEAVED PHOTON DETECTION ARRAY FOR OPTICALLY MEASURING A PHYSICAL SAMPLE
An interleaved photon detection array for sampling a physical sample including a plurality of photon detectors, which may be arranged in close proximity to each other. Photon detection array includes at least a first photon detector having at least a first signal detection parameter. Interleaved photon detection array includes at least a second photon detector having at least a second signal detection parameter. Signal detection parameters of the first signal detector and the second signal detector may be heterogeneous. Interleaved photon detection array includes a control circuit coupled to the plurality of photon detectors. Control circuit receives signals from the plurality of photon detectors and renders an image of a physical sample. Additional imaging technology such as ultrasound may be combined with photon detection array.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IDENTIFYING A MOTION PATTERN OF A PERSON
A device and a method for identifying a motion pattern of a person that allow suitable feedback about an identified motion pattern to be produced in real time, to address the disadvantage that there is no provision for direct feedback to the person in the event of abnormal behavior being detected. This is achieved by virtue of a device for identifying a motion pattern of a person having at least one sensor for capturing motion parameters and at least one evaluation unit, which is couplable to the at least one sensor, for evaluating the motion parameters and for producing a motion pattern.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR ELECTROMECHANICAL SENSING AND MAPPING
Systems, devices, and methods for tracking and determining the motion of a cardiac implant is disclosed. The motion of the implant is determined by transmitting acoustic energy to a tissue location using an acoustic controller-transmitter comprising an array of acoustic transducers; wherein the implant is configured to convert the transmitted acoustic energy to electrical energy; and the tracking is achieved by determining the electrical energy delivered to the tissue throughout one or more cardiac cycles in order to create a motion profile of the cardiac implant.
MIRROR TREATMENT DEVICE AND MIRROR TREATMENT SYSTEM
A mirror therapy device includes a first positioning assembly, a second positioning assembly and a transmission assembly connecting the first and second positioning assemblies. The first and second positioning assemblies are arranged in opposition to each other in such a manner that both are able to reciprocate. The first positioning assembly is configured for positioning of a healthy limb of a patient, and the second positioning assembly is configured for positioning of an affected limb of the patient. The transmission assembly is configured for power transmission between the first and second positioning assemblies so that the second positioning assembly moves in synchronization with the first positioning assembly under the action of the transmission assembly. A mirror therapy system includes the mirror therapy device and a display device. The mirror therapy system enables the healthy limb to drive movement of the affected limb to allow the affected limb to repeat the same movements as the healthy limb, thus establishing neural connections for synchronous vision, motor perception and proprioception of the patient's healthy and affected sides and better stimulating nerve recovery of the patient.
Systems and methods for monitoring patient motion via capacitive position sensing
Systems and methods are described for the monitoring of patient motion via the detection of changes in capacitance, as measured using a capacitance position sensing electrode array. The changes in capacitance may be processed to determine a corresponding positional offset, for example, using a calibration data set relating capacitance to offset for each electrode of the array. The detected positional offset may be employed to provide feedback to a surgeon or operator of a medical device, or directly to the medical device for the control thereof. A medical procedure may be interrupted when the positional offset is detected to exceed a threshold. Alternatively, the detected positional offset may be employed to manually or automatically reconfigure a medical device to compensate for the detected change in position. Various configurations of capacitive position sensing devices are disclosed, including embodiment in incorporating capacitive sensing electrodes with a mask or other support structure.
