Anatomical Oscillation and Fluctuation Sensing and Confirmation System
Disclosed herein is a system and method directed to detecting placement of a medical device within a patient body, where the system includes a medical device including an optical fiber having core fibers, each of the one or more core fibers including a plurality of sensors each configured to (i) reflect a light signal having an altered characteristic due to strain experienced by the optical fiber. The system further includes logic configured to cause operations of providing an incident light signal to the optical fiber, receiving reflected light signals of different spectral widths of the incident light from the sensors, processing the reflected light signals to detect fluctuations of a portion of the optical fiber, and determining a location of the portion of the optical fiber based on the detected fluctuations. In some instances, the detected fluctuations are caused by anatomical movement of the patient body.

Wearable respiration sensor and respiration monitoring system
There is described a wearable respiration sensor generally having a stretchable substrate to be worn around a user's torso; and a dipole antenna having two flexible conductive elements extending in opposite directions from a center, relative to a dipole axis, and being secured to the stretchable substrate, each of the two flexible conductive elements having a proximate end near the center, a distal end away from the center, and a curved portion curving away from and back towards the dipole axis between the proximate end and the distal end, the two flexible conductive elements being in a point reflection symmetry relative to one another relative to said center in a manner that, when the stretchable substrate is stretched along the dipole axis, the curved portions of the two flexible conductive elements are flattened and the distal ends are moved away from one another.
Garment system providing biometric monitoring for medical condition assessment
A garment (e.g., a shirt) for monitoring biometric properties of the wearer of the garment is disclosed. The garment may include sensors for monitoring or assessing the vital signs and body position of the wearer. A processor associated with the garment may provide an output indicative of an assessed condition of the wearer based on the assessed vital signs and the assessed body position of the wearer of the fabric. The garment may include an injector assembly that is used to administer a drug injection to the wearer when the assessed condition indicates that the wearer is in an alert condition.
Method and System to Pair an Article to a User
A method and system to seamlessly pair a user to an article includes matching their respective inertial profile. The system comprises of a user sensor that can capture and communicate the motion profile of the user or a part of the user as well as an article sensor that can capture and communicate the motion profile of the article. Both motion profiles are communicated to a pattern matching module. When the article and the user are spatially interacting for at least a minimum period of time, the pattern matching module can determine the level of similarity between the respective profiles. A decision to pair the article to the user is produced based on said level of said profiles similarity.
Smartphone Heart Rate And Breathing Rate Determination Using Accuracy Measurement Weighting
A smartphone plugin determines the heart rate and the breathing rate of a user, who is either holding the smartphone in his/her hand or who has the smartphone resting on his/her chest when lying in a supine position, using only smartphone accelerometer output data and no external sensors. The smartphone is preloaded with spectral entropy to weight mapping information for each of a plurality of use cases. The plugin performs frequency domain processing on accelerometer output data to determine an estimated heart rate EHR and an estimated breathing rate EBR. The spectral entropy of accelerometer output data is determined, and is used along with an appropriate spectral entropy to weight mapping, to determine an EHR weight for each EHR value and an EBR weight for each EBR value. The weights are used to adjust the EHR and EBR values to generate more accurate heart rate and breathing rate values.
MOTION DATA PROCESSING METHOD AND MOTION MONITORING SYSTEM
A motion data processing method and a motion monitoring system provided in the present disclosure may process an electromyography (EMG) signal in the frequency domain or time domain to identify an abnormal signal in the EMG signal, such as an abrupt signal, a missing signal, a saturation signal, an oscillation signal, etc. caused by a high-pass filtering algorithm. The motion data processing method and the motion monitoring system may further perform a data sampling operation on the EMG signal through a data sampling algorithm, and predict data corresponding to the time point when the abnormal signal appears based on the sampling data, so as to obtain prediction data, and replace the abnormal signal by using the prediction data to correct the abnormal signal. The motion data processing method and the motion monitoring system may not merely accurately identify the abnormal signal, but further correct the abnormal signal, so that the corrected data may be more in line with an actual motion of a user, thereby improving user experience.
Method and system for indicating a breathing pattern
A method and system for indicating a breathing pattern is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of smart wearable devices, a plurality of mobile devices, an application server and a database. The plurality of smart wearable devices is either connected to the mobile devices or directly connected to the application server. The database is connected to the application server to store the data transmitted by the smart wearable device or the mobile device. The plurality of smart wearable devices is capable of monitoring the health index and identifying the variation in health conditions of the user, in real-time and activating a suitable breathing pattern to normalize such medical condition.
Radar-based vital sign estimation
In an embodiment, a method includes: receiving radar signals with a millimeter-wave radar; generating range data based on the received radar signals; detecting a target based on the range data; performing ellipse fitting on in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) signals associated with the detected target to generate compensated I and Q signals associated with the detected target; classifying the compensated I and Q signals; when the classification of the compensated I and Q signals correspond to a first class, determining a displacement signal based on the compensated I and Q signals, and determining a vital sign based on the displacement signal; and when the classification of the compensated I and Q signals correspond to a second class, discarding the compensated I and Q signals.
Sleep position training device and method for controlling such device
One aspect of this disclosure relates to a sleep position training device for reducing gastroesophageal reflux during sleep. The training device can comprise an orientation sensor, a stimulus generator and a processing system. The orientation sensor can be configured to output a signal indicative of an orientation of the torso of the person. The stimulus generator can be configured to provide a stimulus to the torso of the person when the torso of the person is in a predetermined torso orientation range in a sleeping position. The stimulus generator can be removably affixable to the torso of the person. The processing system can be configured to receive a first signal from the orientation sensor, the first signal being indicative of an orientation of the torso of the person, and to determine that the orientation is within the predetermined torso orientation range in the sleeping position.
