Magneto-LC resonance technology for real-time respiratory motion monitoring

A non-contact respiratory monitoring system, method, and sensor are disclosed. The system includes a magnet and a sensor including a coil made of magnetic microwire. The magnetic microwire sensor coil is configured to detect motion of the magnet relative to the magnetic sensor coil. An alternating voltage across the magnetic microwire sensor coil is modified by a change in impedance of the magnetic microwire sensor coil caused by the change in the distance of the magnet from the magnetic microwire sensor coil. The non-contact respiratory monitoring method includes changing a distance of a magnet from a magnetic sensor coil. The sensor includes a coil composed of high quality melt-extracted amorphous microwire.

Biosensor arrangement structure

Disclosed is a biosensor arrangement structure, including: a plurality of biosensors that is disposed in a seat for supporting an occupant and that measures a health condition of the occupant. The seat includes: a seat body for holding the occupant; and an auxiliary supporter for supporting a body part of the occupant except for a torso and thighs. At least one of the plurality of biosensors is disposed at the auxiliary supporter.

DETECTION APPLIANCE AND METHOD FOR OBSERVING SLEEP-RELATED BREATHING DISORDERS

A detection appliance and a method detect and evaluate a measuring signal that is indicative of breathing of a sleeping person, in connection with the observation of sleep-related breathing disorders. Instruments also detect signals that are indicative of breathing of a patient. The aim provides solutions that enable a reliable examination in terms of occurrence of sleep-related sleeping disorders, in the usual surroundings of the person concerned. In a first form, a mobile detection appliance is provided with a sensor device for detecting a nasal flow signal indicative of a nasal respiratory gas flow, and/or a respiratory flow signal indicative of an oral respiratory gas flow, in addition to an electronic data processing unit comprising a memory device and processing the signals indicative of temporal course of the nasal and oral respiration. The data processing device is configured to store data indicative of temporal course of the respiratory flow signals.

Systems and methods for respiratory analysis

Examples described herein include systems and methods for determining sleep characteristics based on movement data. In one example, a device including at least one accelerometer can be worn by a user during the night. The accelerometer can be configured to detect small motions of the user and provide an output signal. The output signal can be filtered and used to determine whether the user was sleeping during a particular timeframe. The output signal can also be used to determine a sleep characteristic of the sleep, such as light sleep, deep sleep, REM sleep, obstructive apnea, or central apnea.

Methods and systems for non-contact monitoring of a patient to determine a respiratory parameter such as respiration rate. The systems and methods receive a depth signal from the patient to determine patient movement indicative of respiration. The methods include analyzing multiple regions in a region of interest (ROI) to determine whether or not respiration is occurring in the analyzed region, and preparing a mask with the regions determined to have respiration. The mask is used to determine the respiratory parameter of the patient in the masked ROI.
