APPARATUS FOR COLLECTING FINGERPRINTS AND BUCCAL SWABS
Disclosed are devices and methods for collection, labeling and matching biological samples containing nucleic acid in conjunction with collecting at least one ridge and valley signature such as a fingerprint or footprint of an individual. Such devices and methods are used in forensic, human identification, paternity, tissue typing, and screening technologies to rapidly process an individual's identity, determine the identity of an individual along with the genotype profile of the individual.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING FOOTPRINT IDENTITY USING DIMENSION REDUCTION ALGORITHM
A method of determining footprint identity using a dimension reduction algorithm according to an embodiment includes: pre-processing to process three-dimensional (3D) image data about footprints of a first person and a second person and convert the 3D image data into one-dimensional (1D) data about the footprints of the first person and the second person; calculating a distribution of cross-correlation coefficients between two pieces of 1D data about footprints of the first person (SC: same footwear correlation) and a distribution of cross-correlation coefficients between the 1D data about the footprints of the first person and the second person (DC: difference footwear correlation); and calculating a likelihood ratio based on the SC and the DC to determine the degree of correspondence between the footprints of the first person and the second person.
Footprint generator capable of applying constant force and footprint generation method using the same
A footprint generator capable of applying a constant force includes: a base plate in which a target surface may be on an upper surface of the base plate; a shoe mounting member that is apart from the upper surface of the base plate and capable of mounting a shoe; a driving unit that is apart from the upper surface of the base plate and capable of moving the shoe mounting member up and down; and a force measuring unit configured to measure an impact force when the shoe mounting member descends and contacts the shoe with the target surface to generate a footprint on the target surface.

HIGH-RESOLUTION PORTABLE BIOMETRIC READER FOR NEWBORNS
The present patent of invention describes a high-resolution portable biometric reader for newborns that, according to the characteristics thereof, provides for the creation of a biometric reader for newborns (1) in a curved portable structure of electronic type and based on a frame and a comfortable handle enabling the operator to hold the reader in a single hand and arrange the capture surface area according to the newborn's position thus enabling the fingerprints of the newborn and those of the mother to be digitally captured using the frustrated total internal reflection technique with a prism as an optical system (4) having a resolution greater than 29 lp/mm (1450 ppi) over the entire capture area of more than 18×36 mm, so as to provide full optimization in the capturing procedures for fingerprint, palm-print and footprint imaging of newborn babies and the fingerprints of the respective mothers, i.e., the simultaneous registration of the fingerprints of both the baby and the mother and the subsequent inclusion in a medical register system to improve record tracking.
FOOT IMPRINTING DEVICE FOR SHOWING FOOT TYPE
A foot imprinting device includes a plurality of foot imprinting units each of which includes a base seat, a colored pad disposed on the base seat, and a light transmitting sheet flippably disposed on and covering the colored pad. The light transmitting sheet is movable between a first state, in which the light transmitting sheet is configured to be stepped on by a person, and a second state, in which the light transmitting sheet is configured to show a footprint of a foot of the person.
Providing an alert to a passenger based on a location of the passenger while in transit on a multi-passenger mode of transport
Providing an alert to a user of a multi-passenger mode of transport includes receiving first biometric information about the user and a destination for the user; receiving second biometric information about the user; based on the second biometric information, determining the destination for the user; based at least in part on the destination for the user, determining a first location within the multi-passenger mode of transport; and transmitting a first command to control a first display device proximate to the user, based on the first location.
