Power Transfer-Based Flexible Sensing System for Smart Hydrogel Swelling State Readout
A power transfer-based flexible sensing platform that can be used in a fluid environment includes at least one metallic thin film structure, with a polymeric encapsulation that protects the metallic thin film structure from the fluid environment, a smart hydrogel sandwiched between layers of the metallic thin film structure, the smart hydrogel being configured to swell or shrink in response to stimulus, and an AC power source or signal generator electrically connected to the at least one metallic film structure. The metallic thin film can include first and second U-shaped metallic thin film structures, each encapsulated, where the smart hydrogel is sandwiched between them. An AC power or signal source is electrically connected to one of the U-shaped structures, causing power to be inductively transferred to the other. Measurement of the induced power or other signal can be used to determine a concentration of an analyte in the fluid environment.
METHOD FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF ORAL THERAPY IN PARKINSON'S DISEASE
A method and a system are described, for managing a mouth therapy in the Parkinson's disease, through the analysis of the motion status of patients, wherein the motion status can be in one of the following phases: OFF phase, wherein Parkinson's symptoms, such as rigidity, tremor and bradykinesia, emerge; ON phase wherein the symptoms markedly improve; DIS phase wherein involuntary movements emerge, called dyskinesias; as detectors of the symptoms the following parameters are used: voice analysis; face analysis; tremor analysis; movement analysis; levodopa and metabolite levels of monoamines in the sub-cutaneous interstitial liquid of the patients; an algorithm being provided, which provides to the patient the daily therapeutic scheme with its relates administration dosages and inter-times, computed by using the parameters as detectors.
Wearable microdialysis device for early detection of anastomotic leaks
A system for detecting and treating an anastomotic leak includes a microcatheter implanted at an anastomosis site; a source of a perfusion fluid coupled to the microcatheter and configured to dispense the perfusion fluid to the microcatheter; and an analyzer coupled to the microcatheter configured to receive an extracellular fluid from the microcatheter and to analyze the extracellular fluid to determine status of the anastomosis site.

MEASURING NEUROCHEMICAL LEVELS WITH MULTIPLE CYCLIC SQUARE WAVE VOLTAMMETRY
Systems, methods, and devices for generating multiple cyclic square-waveforms and sloped-edge square waveforms. Aspects of the techniques disclosed herein include applying the generated waveforms to an electrode used in voltammetry, e.g., to measure a level of a neurochemical in neural tissue. An electrode can be located in a solution, and an electrical stimulus applied to the solution through the electrode using a multiple cyclic square waveform. An electrical current response to the stimulus is measured, and a level of an analyte (e.g., dopamine or other neurochemical(s)) determined based on the electrical current response.
A PROPOFOL SENSOR
An enzymatic electrochemical sensor for the detection of blood propofol is provided.
3D graphene transistor
A field effect transistor having a channel that comprises three-dimensional graphene foam. The subject matter of the invention concerns a three dimensional field-effect transistor having a channel based on graphene foam and the use of ionic liquid as a gate. The graphene foam is made of a three-dimensional network of single and double layer graphene that extends in all the three dimensions. Metal contacts on either end of the graphene foam form the drain and source contacts of the transistor.
MICRODIALYSIS DEVICE COMPRISING ATTACHMENT SHEET
The present disclosure relates to a dialysis device (1), more particularly a microdialysis device for the sampling of substances from the surface of a body organ. The device is particularly useful in the context of the monitoring of a moving organ, such as a beating heart, as the device comprises attachment means (2) allowing for a flexible and reliable attachment thereto. Furthermore, the microdialysis device provides for an efficient exchange of substances, such as metabolic substances, between the organ and the dialysis fluid through a semi-permeable material forming part of the device. There is also provided a method encompassing the device of the disclosure.
