Patient-Assisted Alarm System

In the present invention, a system and associated method is provided for monitoring vital parameters of a patient. The monitoring system includes sensors disposed on the patient and operably connected to a monitor. The parameters that are sensed by the sensors are transmitted to the monitor and compared with alarm thresholds and operational criteria stored within the monitor. When an alarm condition is sensed by the system, the system can actively solicit patient assistance in the confirmation of the alarm condition based on a set of reactive inputs stored within the system to enable medical personnel to appropriately respond to clinically relevant sensed alarm condition(s).

REMOTE PATIENT MONITORING AND MEDICATION DELIVERY SYSTEM

The present invention relates to systems and methods for remotely monitoring the health of a patient in a real-time, continuous manner, remotely deliver therapeutic medications to the patient, and facilitating communication between the patient and a remotely located patient care provider.

Oximetry probe with tissue depth analysis

An oximeter probe includes a probe unit or a base unit and a probe tip where the probe tip has a number of sources and detectors that can be accessed individually or in differing combinations for measuring tissue oxygen saturation at different tissue depth in tissue. A processor of the oximeter probe controls a multiplexer that is coupled to the detectors for selectively collecting measurement information from the detectors via the multiplexer. The oximeter probe is user programmable via one or more input devices on the oximeter probe for selecting the particular sources and detectors to collect measurement information from by the processor.

MULTIPLE WAVELENGTH SENSOR EMITTERS

A physiological sensor has light emitting sources, each activated by addressing at least one row and at least one column of an electrical grid. The light emitting sources are capable of transmitting light of multiple wavelengths and a detector is responsive to the transmitted light after attenuation by body tissue.

METHODS, APPARATUS AND SYSTEMS FOR ADAPTABLE PRESENTATION OF SENSOR DATA

A method of presenting data from a remote sensor that is monitoring a subject includes obtaining a data stream from the remote sensor, wherein the data stream includes a sensor metric, a metric identifier, dynamically updated integrity information about an accuracy of the sensor metric, and a diagnostic assessment of a health condition of the subject, and then displaying, via a display associated with the client device, the diagnostic assessment of the health condition of the subject, a metric statistic associated with the diagnostic assessment, and a recommendation as to an action to be taken by the subject.

Oximetry Device with Laparoscopic Extension

A laparoscopic medical device includes an oximeter sensor at its tip, which allows the making of oxygen saturation measurements laparoscopically. The device can be a unitary design, wherein a laparoscopic element includes electronics for the oximeter sensor at a distal end (e.g., opposite the tip). The device can be a multiple piece design (e.g., two-piece design), where some electronics is in a separate housing from the laparoscopic element, and the pieces (or portions) are removably connected together. The laparoscopic element can be removed and disposed of; so, the electronics can be reused multiple times with replacement laparoscopic elements. The electronics can include a processing unit for control, computation, or display, or any combination of these. However, in an implementation, the electronics can connect wirelessly to other electronics (e.g., another processing unit) for further control, computation, or display, or any combination of these.

Systems and Methods for Measuring Vital Signs Using Multimodal Health Sensing Platforms

Systems and methods for measuring vitals in accordance with embodiments of the invention are illustrated. One embodiment includes a method for measuring vital signs. The method includes steps for identifying regions of interest (ROIs) from video data of an individual, generating temporal waveforms from the ROIs, analyzing the generated temporal waveforms to extract vital sign measurements, and generating outputs based on the analyzed temporal waveforms.

USING AN OPTICAL ENERGY METER TO NORMALIZE ACOUSTIC SIGNALS GENERATED BY LASER PULSES OF VARIOUS WAVELENGTHS TO PERMIT ACCURATE CALCULATION OF BLOOD OXYGENATION

The systems, devices, and methods herein make optoacoustic measurements and correct or normalize them for variations in optical energy level of the different light pulses used. An optical source directs optical pulses to tissue, an optical energy meter measures the optical energy of the different optical pulses, an acoustic detector measures an acoustic response generated by the tissue in response to the optical pulses, and a processor calculates a concentration of an analyte based on the measured acoustic response and as corrected or normalized for the different energy levels among the optical pulses.
