POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE MONITORING DEVICE AND METHODS

A post-partum hemorrhage monitoring system has a fluid collection funnel having a opening configured to receive post-partum hemorrhaging, an open distal end, a base, an interior configured to receive postpartum hemorrhage, a lip extending exteriorly from the open proximal end, an anterior surface configured to be placed adjacent an anterior vaginal wall of a patient, a posterior surface configured to be placed adjacent a posterior vaginal wall of a patient and a stem having a lumen extending from an open distal end of the funnel. The anterior surface tapers from the lip to and through the base, the posterior surface has substantially no taper from the lip to and through the base to provide a flattened flow path, and the stem is offset from the geometric center of the fluid collection funnel.

Dermal Patch for Collecting a Physiological Sample

A dermal patch for collecting a physiological sample includes a housing with a collection chamber, a sample channel and a pin within a receptacle of the housing. The sample channel is configured to direct a physiological sample drawn from a subject to the collection chamber. The pin is removably positioned within the receptacle and is configured to move from an undeployed position to a deployed position. The pin is configured to seal the receptacle when in the undeployed position and is further configured to facilitate generation of negative pressure in the sample channel when the pin is moved from the undeployed to the deployed position.

TRANSPORT BAG FOR TRANSPORTING LIQUID SAMPLES AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF

In order to produce a transport bag for transporting liquid samples, in particular blood, urine, tissue samples, or the like, two film layers made of plastic are placed one on top of the other and joined to one another in such a manner that an interior space is formed between the film layers. Before the two film layers are placed one on top of the other, a liquid or viscous carrier material into which absorber particles are or will be mixed is applied to at least one of the film layers. Subsequently, the carrier material with the absorber particles is dried and/or cooled. Preferably, the carrier material is sprayed or spattered or printed or knife coated or brushed onto the film layer.

A disposable blood sampler for a blood braid of a blood bag includes a blood taking needle cannula, a threaded cannula, a blood braid clamp, a connecting pipe, a needle inserting sheet and a blood braid. The blood taking needle cannula includes a tubular threaded structure at both ends, a bottom port of the threaded cannula is connected with the blood taking needle cannula, and an upper port of the threaded cannula includes symmetrically distributed clamping slots extending to a middle lower part of the wall. Grips are arranged on the outer wall surface of the blood braid clamp, and the blood braid clamp is arranged in the threaded cannula. The grip is arranged outside the clamping slot, and the connecting pipe is directly inserted into the upper port. An inner cavity in which the needle inserting sheet is placed is arranged inside the inner part of the connecting pipe.

Blood Sample Management Using Open Cell Foam

A specimen transfer device adapted to receive a blood sample is disclosed. The specimen transfer device includes a housing and an actuation member. A deformable material is disposed within the housing and is deformable from an initial position in which the material is adapted to hold the sample to a deformed position in which at least a portion of the sample is released from the material. A viscoelastic member is disposed within the housing between the material and the housing and between the material and the actuation member. The viscoelastic member is engaged with the actuation member and the material such that movement of the actuation member from a first position to a second position deforms the material from the initial position to the deformed position.

Vacuum pad and related system

A vacuum pad may include a top layer forming a top surface of the vacuum pad; a bottom layer forming a bottom surface of the vacuum pad; and a plurality of spacers located between the top layer and the bottom layer such that an interior space is formed between the top layer and the bottom layer. The interior space may have at least one channel extending around at least one spacer of the plurality of spacers. The vacuum pad may also include an outlet tube in fluid communication with the interior space, where the top layer includes a plurality of holes. A vacuum system may include the vacuum pad along with a canister and a vacuum source for moving fluid from the vacuum pad to the canister.

A flushable catheter device has an outer tube with a first distal end opening to be introduced into a blood vessel and defining a first lumen. An inner tube is disposed in the first lumen with a second distal end opening proximally spaced from the first distal end opening and defining a second lumen. A space axially disposed between the end openings defines an outflow/inflow inhibiting portion which inhibits a flow of fluid out from the first lumen into the into the vessel as a result of a perfusion of a flushing fluid being supplied through the first lumen and into the second lumen.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR COLLECTING BLOOD
20190053747 · 2019-02-21 ·

The invention provides methods and devices for drawing blood, in which the blood collected into a container closely resembles the blood as it existed before collection (i.e., as it existed in vivo). In some embodiments this may be achieved by modulating a flow rate of blood into the collection container in order to preserve the integrity of the blood. By modulating the flow rate of the blood, shear forces acting on cells and cellular components in the blood are reduced. This preserves the integrity of such cells and cellular components and facilitates more accurate detection and analysis of low-abundance analytes.
