Methods and systems to collect a biological sample
Sample processing methods and systems to collect a biological sample. A device may be configured collect a predetermined volume of a sample in sample chamber, and seal the chamber upon activation. The device may be further configured to mix the mix the sample with a predetermined volume of a reagent and/or mix the sample and the reagent in a pre-determined ration.
Systems and Methods for Autonomous Intravenous Needle Insertion
Systems and methods for autonomous intravenous needle insertion are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a system for autonomous intravenous insertion include a robot arm, one or more sensors pivotally attached to the robot arm for gathering information about potential insertion sites in a subject arm, a medical device pivotally attached to the robot arm, and a controller in communication with the sensors and the robot arm, wherein the controller receives the information from the sensors about potential insertion sites, and the controller selects a target insertion site and directs the robot arm to insert the medical device into the target insertion site.
System and method for assuring patient medication and fluid delivery at the clinical point of use
A system for confirmation of fluid delivery to a patient at the clinical point of use is provided. The system includes a wearable electronic device. The wearable electronic device has a housing; at least one imaging sensor associated with the housing; a data transmission interface; a data reporting accessory for providing data to the user; a microprocessor for managing the at least one imaging sensor, the data transmission interface, and the data reporting accessory; and a program for acquiring and processing images from the at least one imaging sensor. The system further includes a fluid delivery apparatus; and one or more identification tags attached to or integrally formed with the fluid delivery apparatus. The program processes an image captured by the at least one imaging sensor to identify the one or more identification tags and acquires fluid delivery apparatus information from the one or more identification tags.
Systems and methods for providing ultrasound guidance to target structures within a body
An ultrasonic probe comprising a housing, a first ultrasonic transducer array, a second ultrasonic transducer array, a first light source, and a second light source. The first ultrasonic transducer array is coupled to the housing and configured to emit a first planar ultrasonic beam in a first direction within a first plane. The second ultrasonic transducer array is coupled to the housing and configured to emit a second planar ultrasonic beam in the first direction within a second plane, which is substantially perpendicular to the first plane. The first light source is coupled to the housing and configured to project a first light line substantially within the first plane. The second light source is coupled to the housing and configured to project a second light line within a third plane, which is substantially perpendicular to the first plane and intersects the second plane at an oblique angle. The first light line intersects and is substantially perpendicular to the second light line.
ANALYTE SENSOR DEVICES, CONNECTIONS, AND METHODS
Devices associated with on-body analyte sensor units are disclosed. These devices include any of packaging and/or loading systems, applicators and elements of the on-body sensor units themselves. Also, various approaches to connecting electrochemical analyte sensors to and/or within associated on-body analyte sensor units are disclosed. The connector approaches variously involve the use of unique sensor and ancillary element arrangements to facilitate assembly of separate electronics assemblies and sensor elements that are kept apart until the end user brings them together.
Point of Care Collection and Transfer Device with Luer Lock Access Device and Syringe Compatibility
An instrument advancement device includes a housing comprising a fluid path, a distal end, and a proximal end, an instrument disposed within the housing, an advancement element, where in response to movement of the advancement element with respect to the housing, the instrument is configured to advance distal to the distal end of the housing, a small sample dispense device connected to the proximal end of the housing, and a blood collection device connected to a proximal end of the small sample dispense device. The blood collection device is configured to receive an evacuated blood collection container, where the small sample dispense device is detachable from the housing and configured to dispense a blood sample.
Vascular Access Blood Draw Device with Integrated Point-of-Care Small Volume Blood Collection Device
An instrument advancement device may include a housing comprising a distal end and a proximal end; an instrument disposed within the housing; an advancement element, wherein in response to movement of the advancement element with respect to the housing, the instrument is configured to advance distal to the distal end of the housing, and a blood sample collection tube inserted into the distal end of the housing, wherein the blood sample collection tube is configured to receive a small volume blood sample.
BLOOD PRICKING HEAD FOR AN AUTOMATIC OR SEMI-AUTOMATIC BLOOD COLLECTION MACHINE
The invention relates to a blood pricking head (8) for a mechatronic assembly such as a robot-controlled arm of an automatic or semi-automatic blood collection machine configured to enable movement of the mechatronic assembly below the limb of a patient, the pricking head comprising: a frame (10) provided with removable attachment means (11) that can be moved from the frame to the mechatronic assembly; a holder (12) for collection needles, means (16) for linearly moving the needle holder; a motorised device (25) for fluidically linking the needle mounted on the needle holder with a collection tube; and an electromechanical device (21, 22) configured to enable, on command, withdrawal of the pricking needle from the patient's arm.
Multi-purpose automatic injector
A multi-purpose automatic injector, comprising a base unit having a forward end and a rearward end and arranged along a longitudinal axis; a cartridge containing a medicament, the cartridge being coupled adjacent to the forward end of the base unit; a drive assembly attached to the base unit and configured to be actuated by a computerized controller; at least one piercing element configured to be operatively coupled with the drive assembly and configured to be movable by the drive member relative to the cartridge in a reciprocating manner upon receipt of a corresponding signal from the computerized controller.
