A wax dispersion includes a wax a surfactant; and water, particles of the wax dispersion are a uniform, irregular, non-platelet morphology. A wax dispersion made by a process includes grinding a wax into wax particles having a size in a range from about 600 microns to about 800 microns, forming a mixture of the wax particles with water and a surfactant, and homogenizing the mixture to form a wax dispersion, the homogenizing step is maintained below about 35 C. and the wax has a uniform, irregular, non-platelet morphology imparted by combination of the grinding and homogenizing steps.
Solvent free emulsification processes
Provided is an emulsion that includes a water phase and a resin containing phase. The emulsion is prepared from a mixture comprising water, a surfactant, a resin that includes an acidic moiety, and an organic compound having at least two different moieties. Each of the two moieties have a single functionality or dual functionality. The single functionality and the dual functionality are selected from a capability to neutralize the acidic moiety of the resin, a capability to form a hydrogen bond, or both.
Method for manufacturing toner for electrostatic charge image development
The present invention provides a method for producing a toner for electrostatic-image development comprising: a dispersing step of performing a dispersing treatment in which a cavitation effect is obtained on a color resin particle containing a binder resin, a colorant, a charge control agent, and a release agent in an aqueous dispersion medium so as to obtain a dispersion of the color resin particle; and a heating step of performing a heat treatment on the dispersion of the color resin particle at a temperature of equal to or more than a glass transition temperature of the color resin particle and 95? C. or less for a heating time of 5 minutes or more and 10 hours or less.
Toner formulation having a silane surface treated on its outer surface and method of preparing the same
A method for producing core shell toner for electrophotography according to one embodiment, includes surface treating the outer surface of a core shell toner particle with a alkoxysilane hydrocarbon or combination of different alkoxysilane hydrocarbons using a hydrolytic deposition process after the core shell toner particle is fully formed. This method results in the bonding of the alkoxysilane hydrocarbon or combination of different alkoxysilane hydrocarbons to the outer surface of the core shell toner particle. In an alternative method, the outer surface of the toner is surface treated with the alkoxysilane hydrocarbon solution and then fused to form toner particles. The alkoxysilane hydrocarbon surface treated core shell toner also can be mixed with magnetic carrier beads to form a developer mix to be used in a dual component development electrophotographic printer.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING TONER

METHOD OF PRODUCING TONER
A first aspect is a toner production method in which an organosilicon compound is condensed in a surfactant-containing aqueous medium with a specific surface tension, in which a resin particle is dispersed, to produce a toner having the condensate of the organosilicon compound on the surface of the resin particle, and a second aspect is a toner production method in which an organosilicon compound is condensed in an aqueous medium which has a surfactant and a specific metal salt and in which a resin particle is dispersed, to produce a toner having the condensate of the organosilicon compound on the surface of the resin particle.
Toner
Provided is a toner having a toner particle containing a binder resin and a wax, wherein the wax concentrations near the outermost surface of the toner and in the surface layer region below the outermost surface are controlled, so that the wax moves with high efficiency to near the outermost surface during heating.
TONER PRODUCTION METHOD
The present invention is to provide a toner production method configured to prevent scale formation, be resistant to pipe clogging, and realize stable and efficient toner production, even in the case of long-term continuous production. Disclosed is a toner production method comprising: a dispersing step for obtaining a colorant dispersion by, in a stirring tank, (a) dispersing or dissolving a colorant and a charge control agent in a polymerizable monomer, or (b) dispersing or dissolving a binder resin, a colorant and a charge control agent in an organic solvent, and a droplets forming step by suspending the colorant dispersion in an aqueous dispersion medium, wherein, in the dispersing step, the binder resin, colorant or charge control agent is added to the polymerizable monomer or organic solvent in the stirring tank, from a hopper, through a pipe heated by a heating device.
