Toner formulation having a silane surface treated on its outer surface and method of preparing the same
A method for producing core shell toner for electrophotography according to one embodiment, includes surface treating the outer surface of a core shell toner particle with a alkoxysilane hydrocarbon or combination of different alkoxysilane hydrocarbons using a hydrolytic deposition process after the core shell toner particle is fully formed. This method results in the bonding of the alkoxysilane hydrocarbon or combination of different alkoxysilane hydrocarbons to the outer surface of the core shell toner particle. In an alternative method, the outer surface of the toner is surface treated with the alkoxysilane hydrocarbon solution and then fused to form toner particles. The alkoxysilane hydrocarbon surface treated core shell toner also can be mixed with magnetic carrier beads to form a developer mix to be used in a dual component development electrophotographic printer.
COLD WAX DISPERSION PROCESS
A method includes grinding a wax into wax particles having a size in a range from about 600 microns to about 800 microns forming a mixture of the wax particles with water and a surfactant; and homogenizing the mixture to form a wax dispersion, the homogenizing step is maintained below about 35 C. A wax dispersion includes a wax a surfactant; and water, particles of the wax dispersion are a uniform, irregular, non-platelet morphology. A wax dispersion made by a process includes grinding a wax into wax particles having a size in a range from about 600 microns to about 800 microns, forming a mixture of the wax particles with water and a surfactant, and homogenizing the mixture to form a wax dispersion, the homogenizing step is maintained below about 35 C. and the wax has a uniform, irregular, non-platelet morphology imparted by combination of the grinding and homogenizing steps.
DEVELOPER, DEVELOPER STORAGE BODY, DEVELOPING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A developer including developer particles. Each developer particle includes a binder resin, a brilliant pigment whose principal component is aluminum, a yellow pigment, a magenta pigment, a reddish-orange fluorescent dye, and a yellow fluorescent dye. When an average particle diameter of the brilliant pigments included in the developer particles is expressed as D (m), a number proportion of the developer particles having particle diameters in a range from 4 m to 1.2D m in the whole developer particles is less than or equal to 4%.
SOLVENT FREE EMULSIFICATION PROCESSES
Provided is an emulsion that includes a water phase and a resin containing phase. The emulsion is prepared from a mixture comprising water, a surfactant, a resin that includes an acidic moiety, and an organic compound having at least two different moieties. Each of the two moieties have a single functionality or dual functionality. The single functionality and the dual functionality are selected from a capability to neutralize the acidic moiety of the resin, a capability to form a hydrogen bond, or both.
Method of producing toner
Provided is a method of producing a toner including a toner particle, the method including: a granulation step of mixing a polymerizable monomer composition containing a polymerizable monomer and an aqueous medium to form a suspension of particles of the polymerizable monomer composition; and a polymerization step of polymerizing the polymerizable monomer in each of the particles of the polymerizable monomer composition in the presence of a metal phosphate containing aluminum as a metal element to provide the toner particle, the content ratio of aluminum in the metal phosphate containing aluminum being 1.0 mol % or more and 95.0 mol % or less with respect to all metal elements, the metal phosphate containing aluminum being obtained by adding an aluminum compound to the aqueous medium and/or the suspension.
REDUCING CONTAMINATION
In an example of a method for reducing contamination, a purified imaging oil is formed by filtering an imaging oil through an imaging oil filter, and then filtering the imaging oil through a polar absorbent filter. A surface of an amorphous silicon photoconductor of a liquid electrophotographic printing apparatus is maintained by periodically applying the purified imaging oil to the amorphous silicon photoconductor.
Aromatic printed object and manufacture method for the same
An aromatic printed object containing a film-like substrate and a printing section formed on the film-like substrate using a perfume microcapsule-containing toner. The aromatic printed object is an adhesive sheet wherein the printing section is adherend surface. A protective layer is pressed with the adherend surface. A fragrance diverges by peeling off the protective layer of the film-like substrates.
Method for producing toner
Provided is a method for producing a toner, the method including a treatment process of treating a coloring particle including a binder resin, a colorant, a crystalline polyester, and a wax in an aqueous medium, wherein, the peak temperature of a crystallization peak (Pp) in the crystalline polyester is denoted by Tp ( C.) and the peak temperature of a crystallization peak (Pw) in the wax is denoted by Tw ( C.), the Tp and Tw satisfy a specific relationship, and the treatment process has a specific cooling step.
ELECTROSTATIC IMAGE DEVELOPING TONER
An electrostatic image developing toner including a toner particle, wherein the toner particle contains a vinyl resin which is a polymer of a vinyl monomer having an acid group, a polyester resin, at least one of aluminum (Al) and magnesium (Mg), and tin (Sn), and when net intensities of Al, Mg and Sn in the toner particle measured by fluorescent X-ray analysis are respectively expressed as I.sub.Al, I.sub.Mg and I.sub.Sn, a ratio (I.sub.Al+I.sub.Mg)/I.sub.Sn is within a range of 0.5 to 2.5.
