A toner for electrostatic image development includes toner particles containing a binder resin including an amorphous resin and a crystalline resin, a dye, and a release agent. The percentage of the crystalline resin on the surface of the toner particles as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is 15% or less.
