The controller receives a second designation, by the user, of a superimposition position at which an abnormality region containing an abnormality is superimposed on the desired image. The controller transmits user designation information indicating the designation region and the superimposition position to an external device.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, an image bearing member, a transfer member, a voltage source, a density detecting portion, a display portion, a controller, and an operating portion. The controller is capable of executing an operation in a mode in which a test chart for adjusting a transfer voltage is outputted, and setting information on the transfer voltage set for during transfer on the basis of a detection result when the test chart is detected by the detecting portion is displayed at the display portion and is checked by user. A printing system includes a printing unit, a determination unit, and a switching unit. The printing unit prints an image on a recording medium. The determination unit compares a prestored reference image and a read image corresponding to a reading result of a printed document in which the image is printed on the recording medium and determines whether a result of the comparison satisfies a predetermined condition. The switching unit switches a discharge destination of the recording medium based on a result of the determination. The switching unit switches a conveyance path of the recording medium based on whether the determination is performed.

An information processing apparatus includes at least one processor configured to: acquire physical-property-value information of a recording medium; using information regarding a printing machine, perform an evaluation as to whether there is a possibility that the recording medium causes trouble for printing by the printing machine, the evaluation being performed with respect to at least one printing performance indicator based on the physical-property-value information; and output a result of the evaluation to a display device.

In some examples, an apparatus can include a print substance gauge to indicate a quantity of print particles an imaging device is capable of receiving at a particular time, and an authentication mechanism coupled to a locking mechanism, the authentication mechanism includes instructions to: determine a quantity of print particles within a print particle container, and unlock the locking mechanism when the print substance gauge indicates that the imagining device is capable of receiving the quantity of print particles within the print particle container.

In response to detecting that the door has been opened, the printing device displays, on its display, current status information of the colorant supply within the printing device.

An image forming apparatus including a plurality of sheet feeding cassettes includes a control unit. The control unit performs control. In a case where a predetermined condition is satisfied during execution of a print job to print image data, the control unit performs control to execute interruption processing of a correction job to print a correction patch. An example apparatus for providing a user interface of a printer driver may include a user interface device, a processor, and a memory. The processor, by executing instructions stored in the memory and executable by a computer, is to provide, through a user interface device, a user interface of a printer driver equipped with a search function to search for a print option, display, on the user interface, a print option list including at least one print option corresponding to the user's input, in response to the user's input using the search function, and display, on the user interface, a setting menu corresponding to a print option selected by the user among a plurality of setting menus corresponding to print options, according to a user's selection from the displayed print option list.

An image recording device includes a display panel, a cartridge mount, an information input interface, memory, and a controller. The controller obtains service provider information through the information input interface, stores the obtained service provider information in the memory, obtains first identification information or second identification information related to a cartridge mounted in the cartridge mount, sets an operation mode to a first mode in response to obtaining the first identification information, sets the operation mode to a second mode in response to obtaining the second identification information, causes the display panel to display a type of the cartridge in response to setting the operation mode to the first mode, and causes the display panel to display the service provider information in response to setting the operation mode to the second mode.
