Provided are an image forming apparatus for outputting a plurality of images having different sizes according to a method pre-set by a user without interrupting a current printing operation when the plurality of images having different sizes are obtained and a method of operating the image forming apparatus.

An information processing apparatus which is capable of reliably switching display languages in response to depression of a language switching button. A display language on a display unit is switched to a language selected by a user from a list of languages displayed on the display unit. In response to selection of a language switching button by the user, the display language on the display unit is switched to one of a plurality of languages associated with the language switching button. Currently-displayed language information indicating a language currently displayed on the display unit is obtained when the language switching button is selected by the user. When the language switching button is selected by the user, the display language on the display unit is switched to one of the plurality of languages associated with the language switching button and different from a language currently displayed on the display unit.

An image processing apparatus includes an image reader, an input operation unit including a display, an interface configured to receive, from an external medium, setting information for processing of an image read by the image reader, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the display to display a first setting screen for processing the image when the setting information is not received from the external medium and to control the display to display a second setting screen for processing the image when the setting information is received from the external medium. The second setting screen indicates that an operational setting designated by the setting information has already been set on the image processing apparatus.

An image forming system includes: a sheet feeder; an image former that forms an image on a paper sheet; a conveyor that conveys a paper sheet to a sheet ejection destination; a switcher that switches sheet ejection destinations; a reader that optically reads a paper sheet, and outputs a read image; an abnormal sheet detector that detects an abnormal paper sheet by analyzing the read image; a storage; a display; and a hardware processor that performs: ejection destination switch control to control the switcher to eject an abnormal paper sheet and a succeeding paper sheet to a second ejection destination different from a regular ejection destination; storage control, for each of the abnormal paper sheet and the succeeding paper sheet, to associate sheet information, the read image, and a stacking order with one another, and store them into the storage; and display control to cause the display to display them.

An image forming apparatus includes a drum cartridge and a controller. The drum cartridge includes a photosensitive drum, a charger and a drum cartridge memory storing a life count value and discharge history information. The controller includes a voltage applying circuit, and an abnormal discharge detection circuit. In a case where the abnormal discharge detection circuit detects an abnormal discharge, the controller does not permit printing in a case where the life count value is equal to or more than a first reference value and a number of abnormal discharges which is included in the discharge history information read from the drum cartridge memory is equal to or more than a particular threshold value, or permits printing in a case where the life count value is equal to or more than the first reference value and the number of abnormal discharges is less than the particular threshold value.

An apparatus includes a device image processor configured to receive the plurality of device image definitions and the plurality of device offset information definitions from the device image module, read, from the device configuration definition, a plurality of device image parts defined by the plurality of received device image definitions, respectively, receive, from the device image module, the device error definition and the error offset information definition, read, from the device configuration definition, an error image part defined by the received device error definition, arrange the plurality of read device image parts on a plurality of offset positions defined by the plurality of received device offset information definitions, respectively, and arrange the read error image part on an offset position defined by the received error offset information definition, to thereby generate a composite image, and cause the software executing module to display the composite image on the display device.

An information processing apparatus includes: a processor configured to store plural screens satisfying a predetermined condition among screens used for setting a device accompanying a series of screen transitions, in association with one icon; and display the plural screens associated with the icon in order and receive the setting of the device from each screen of the plural screens in a case where a user selects the icon.

An image forming apparatus includes a printer unit, a display, and a display controller. The printer unit is configured to print an image on a sheet. The printer unit includes a target component. The display controller is communicable with the display. The display controller is configured to cause the display to display a first display element associated with replacement of the target component. The first display element is displayed based on a state of the printer unit. The display controller is also configured to cause the display to display a second display element associated with a warning for the printer unit. The second display element is displayed so as to at least one of block or hide a portion of the first display element. The second display element is displayed based on the state. The portion describes replacement of the target component.

An image forming apparatus has a controller with a first input terminal configured to receive a first signal indicating a state of a first opening/closing portion, a second input terminal configured to receive a second signal indicating a state of a second opening/closing portion, and a third input terminal configured to receive a third signal indicating a state of the first opening/closing portion and the second opening/closing portion. The controller is configured to delay a first notification of an open state of the first opening/closing portion and a second notification of an open state of the second opening/closing portion for a predetermined period after any one of the first signal, second signal, or third signal initially indicates an open state.

An image forming apparatus which prevents a user from being confused when print data comprised of a plurality of sections is printed by the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus is able to perform test printing of print data for which a plurality of copies are to be printed. Whether or not a plurality of sections are included in selected print data is determined, and when it is determined that a plurality of sections are included in the selected print data, execution of the test printing is restricted.
