An information processing apparatus communicating with an image forming apparatus on which toner containers containing toners of different colors are mounted and which forms an image using the toners of different colors includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire, for each color, a stock request of a toner container to be stocked being different from the toner containers mounted on the image forming apparatus, and a display unit configured to display, for each color, stock information indicating that stocking of a spare toner container is required, in accordance with the stock request acquired by the acquisition unit.

A recording material transport device includes a transport unit that transports a recording material to a succeeding apparatus that follows the recording material transport device; and a notification unit that, in a case where transport of the recording material by the transport unit has been stopped, gives a notification prompting a user to take an action for reducing occurrence of a trouble resulting from a state where the recording material that has been stopped has already reached the succeeding apparatus.

There is provided an image forming system including at least a first image forming apparatus that includes a first image forming unit and an obtaining unit configured to obtain operation-related information related to an operation of the first image forming unit. The image forming system further includes a carryover unit configured to carry over, to a second image forming apparatus, information related to an operation of a second image forming unit of the second image forming apparatus among the operation-related information obtained by the first image forming apparatus when the second image forming apparatus is newly used in the image forming system. The operation-related information includes operation history information of the first image forming unit.

An image forming system includes: a sheet feeder; an image former that forms an image on a paper sheet; a conveyor that conveys a paper sheet to a sheet ejection destination; a switcher that switches sheet ejection destinations; a reader that optically reads a paper sheet, and outputs a read image; an abnormal sheet detector that detects an abnormal paper sheet by analyzing the read image; a storage; a display; and a hardware processor that performs: ejection destination switch control to control the switcher to eject an abnormal paper sheet and a succeeding paper sheet to a second ejection destination different from a regular ejection destination; storage control, for each of the abnormal paper sheet and the succeeding paper sheet, to associate sheet information, the read image, and a stacking order with one another, and store them into the storage; and display control to cause the display to display them.

An information processing apparatus includes a reception unit which receives first input information which is arbitrary set in conjunction with a login of the first user, a restriction unit which starts imposing a restriction of use of the information processing apparatus at a predetermined timing in a case that a second user logs in to the information processing apparatus while a login state of the first user is continued and a release unit which releases the restriction in response to inputting of second input information, which matches the first input information received by the reception unit, while the use of the information processing apparatus is restricted.

The operation mode determination section determines a current operation mode among a plurality of operation modes for executing an image forming processing. The display section displays an image. The image determination section determines an image indicating the operation mode determined by the operation mode determination section. An image forming apparatus includes a correcting portion, an image forming device, and a fixing device that is one of a first fixing device including a first pair of rotatable members forming a first nip under a first load, and a second fixing device including a second pair of rotatable members forming a second nip under a second load that is less than the first load. A mounting portion selectively mounts one of the plurality of fixing devices. A detector detects a density of a toner image fixed on a recording material. When the fixing device is the first fixing device, an executing portion permits execution of a calibration process for generating a correction condition on the basis of a result of detection of a predetermined toner image by the detector, and, when the fixing device is the second fixing device, the executing portion prohibits execution of the calibration process.

According to one embodiment, a decoloring device includes a reading unit, a decoloring unit, and a control unit. The reading unit is configured to read control information from a first image formed in a predetermined area of a sheet. The decoloring unit is configured to decolor a portion or entirety of a second image, different from the first image, formed on the sheet using a decolorable recording material. The control unit is configured to control erasing of the data of the second image from a storage device, based on the control information, in a case where the decoloring unit decolors the second image.

An image forming apparatus includes a toner supply section, an image forming section, a touch panel, a determining section, a calculating section, and a display section. The determining section determines whether a toner container mounted to the toner supply section is a first container or a second container which differs from the first container. The calculating section calculates a consumption amount of toner consumed for the image forming section to form an image on paper when the determining section determines that the toner container is the second container. The display section displays a ratio of a second consumption amount to a first consumption amount on the touch panel. The first consumption amount is a consumption amount of the toner when the toner container is the first container. The second consumption amount is a consumption amount of the toner when the toner container is the second container.
