An image forming apparatus that facilitates user's determination of necessity of setting an inspection resuming page and is improved in jam processing efficiency. A sheet having an image formed thereon by an image forming unit is conveyed along a sheet conveying path. A sheet inspection device inspects the image on a sheet being conveyed through sheet conveying path. When a jam occurs in the conveying path, image formation by the image forming unit is interrupted. When jammed sheets are removed, formation of images including those formed on the jammed sheets is resumed. When a leading one of the jammed sheets is on a downstream side of the sheet inspection device, the image formation is resumed from an image formed on the leading jammed sheet, based on a user instruction.

A first image forming section forms a monochromatic image with a first color material. A second image forming section forms a monochromatic image with a second color material different from the first color material. A color material selection section selects either the first color material or the second color material as a color material for image formation by a user. An acquisition section reads a document to acquire image data indicating the document. A mode selection section selects, by a user, either a first mode in which a first image processing is executed as an image processing on the image data acquired by the acquisition section or a second mode in which a second image processing, different from the first image processing, for increasing visibility of a color formed on a sheet regardless of a color material selected by the color material selection section, is executed.

A printing apparatus capable of conveying sheets to a sheet processing apparatus and to control the type of a sheet to be used as a cover sheet in a case where a book bound product is generated by switching back sheets each having an image printed, inverting the sheets and folding the inverted sheets, and to notify an error to a user based on the type of a sheet to be used as the cover sheet in a case where printing an image on the cover sheet is designated.

An image forming apparatus that uses set sheet information and is capable of reducing time and effort in replenishing sheets. At least one sheet feed cassette stores sheets. Sheet information of the sheet feed cassette is set according to specifications of the stored sheets using a setting screen displayed on a console panel. Print processing is performed using sheets corresponding to information on sheets included in a print job. It is determined whether or not the information on sheets corresponds to the sheet information of the sheet feed cassette. A sensor detects operations of opening and closing the sheet feed cassette. Even when an operation of opening the cassette or removal of the same has been detected, if the sheet information of the cassette corresponds to the information on sheets, the console panel does not display the setting screen.

On a touch-panel display of an image forming apparatus, which is divided to five areas, that is, a system area, a function selection area, a preview area, an action panel area and a task trigger area, pieces of information are displayed. Even if an operational mode is switched, the same or similar information is always displayed in the area arranged at the same position. In the task trigger area, software buttons operated by the user for actually operating the image forming apparatus are displayed.

An information processing device includes: a display section displaying a setting screen receiving change in a setting candidate of a plurality of respective setting items; and a control unit including a processor and functioning as a display control section, gesture receiving section, and setting candidate receiving section when the processor executes a control program. The setting screen includes a setting item list in which images respectively indicating each of the plurality of setting items are listed, and a shortcut button associated with a predetermined setting candidate of a predetermined setting item. In the setting item list, information representing the setting candidate set at present is shown in the images respectively indicating each of the plurality of setting items. When the gesture receiving section receives a selection gesture performed on the shortcut button, the setting candidate receiving section receives change to the setting candidate associated with the selected shortcut button.

An image processing apparatus for decoloring a decolorable toner image formed on one or more sheets, includes an image processing unit comprising a controller and an image heating section, wherein the image heating section is selectively operable at a toner fixing temperature and an image decoloring temperature that is higher than the toner fixing temperature, a communication interface configured to communicate with an external decoloring device, and a user input section. The controller, upon receiving a request to decolor one or more sheets that is made through the user input section, determines which of the image heating section and the external decoloring device will be the first available to decolor the one or more sheets.

In an image forming apparatus, a driving mechanism rotates a bottle attached to a bottle attaching portion by engaging with a first end of the bottle. A cover member, positioned to face a second end of the bottle, is supported to be able to open and close an opening from which the bottle is inserted. An elastic member applies upwards elastic force to the bottle attaching portion. A level sensor detects a position of the bottle attaching portion in an up-down direction. A signal processing device executes a full-state notifying process when a detection signal of the level sensor during operation of the driving mechanism fails to satisfy an abnormality condition, and the position indicated by the detection signal is lower than a predetermined reference position. The abnormality condition includes either or both of an amplitude condition and a cycle condition for a rotation cycle of the bottle.

A display apparatus has a camera portion which shoots an operation panel, a display portion which displays information while allowing a user to see the operation panel, and a control portion which recognizes the position of the operation panel in the display area of the display portion and the currently displayed screen currently being displayed by the operation panel and which makes the display portion display, in such a way as not to overlap the operation panel, item information indicating the item description of an item button arranged on a screen to which a shift is possible from the currently displayed screen.

An image forming apparatus that includes a charger for charging a surface of a photoreceptor and that forms an image by using an electrophotographic system, the charger being configured to be cleanable, includes a guidance notification unit that causes a guidance notification prompting cleaning of the charger to be displayed and a guidance notification determination unit that, in accordance with a threshold set in accordance with usage condition of the image forming apparatus, determines whether or not to cause the guidance notification to be displayed.
