Catheter insertion device with blood analyzer
A device and method yielding a blood analysis employable in combination with an introducer for a catheter for a concurrent testing of blood from the introducer flash chamber during placement of a venous catheter. The device employs a colorimetric blood analysis to provide the user a visually discernable alert to the results of tested blood concurrent with the placement of the catheter with the introducer.
PORTABLE DEVICE FOR MONITORING VASCULAR ACCESS STATUS
A portable device for monitoring vascular access status is disclosed. The portable device comprises a measurement device and a monitoring module. The measurement device senses vibration data induced by blood flow over certain part of a vascular access of a subject via a vibration-sensing module, and sends the sensed data to outside via its communication module. The monitor module controls an electronic device to receive the sensed data and determines a vibration evaluation index corresponding to a status of the part of the vascular access. The portable device for monitoring vascular access status of the present disclosed example has advantages of small size, easy to carry, low cost, and so on, so as to be applicable to home vascular access status monitor.
NEEDLE ASSEMBLY WITH DIAGNOSTIC ANALYSIS PROVISIONS
A needle assembly. The needle assembly enabling the analysis of fluid trapped in a flashback chamber after an insertion needle has been inserted into a patient's vein.
Intravenous catheter insertion and blood sample devices and method of use
A catheter insertion device includes a housing, a needle, a catheter, and a guide wire. The needle has a proximal end positioned in the housing and a distal end extending beyond a distal end of the housing. The catheter is positioned coaxially over the needle, and includes a flexible tube and a catheter hub on a proximal end of the flexible tube. A proximal portion of the flexible tube and the catheter hub are positioned in the housing. The guide wire has a proximal end positioned in the housing and a distal end positioned in a lumen of the needle. The catheter insertion device also includes a handle coupled to the catheter, wherein movement of the handle relative to the housing moves the catheter hub from a position in the housing to a position outside of the housing.
Blood Draw Syringe With Hemolysis Protection
A blood collection device may include a syringe with hemolysis protection. The syringe with hemolysis protection may be coupled to a catheter assembly and used for blood draw. The blood collection device may include the syringe, which may include a distal end, and a flow restrictor. The flow restrictor may include a distal end and a proximal end. The proximal end of the flow restrictor may be coupled to the distal end of the syringe, which may protect against hemolysis.
Hypodermic needle that mitigates blood vessel collapse
An apparatus includes a hypodermic needle, a blood vessel dilator connected to the hypodermic needle, and an actuator connected to the blood vessel dilator in such a way that the actuator expands the blood vessel dilator. The blood vessel dilator helps mitigate blood vessel collapse.
MULTI-LUMEN CENTRAL LINE
An apparatus for introducing medications and fluids into a patient configured for using a catheter over needle technique to place a central line into the bloodstream of a patient, the apparatus comprising a multi-lumen line extending between a proximal end of the catheter and a distal end, the multi-lumen line comprising a central lumen and at least one non-central lumen, the central lumen having a size larger than that of the at least one non-central lumen, whereby the central lumen and at least one non-central lumen are capable of being utilized to draw blood or deliver fluids or medication and a catheter junction hub at the proximal end, the catheter junction hub separating the multi-lumen line, the catheter junction hub comprising a port opening to the central lumen, whereby the apparatus is capable of utilizing a syringe or flashback chamber to place the multi-lumen line into the bloodstream of the patient.
Apparatus for Rapid Collection of Blood from Livestock
An apparatus useful for the rapid collection of blood from a subject (e.g., a blood vessel, such as the vein, artery or capillary bed of a bovine subject) and dispensing the blood therefrom into a test or collection device. In general, the apparatus comprises: (a) a body having a chamber formed therein, said chamber having an inlet and outlet, with said chamber configured to draw blood therein; (b) a hollow barrel connected to said chamber outlet; (c) an ejector operatively associated with said barrel; (d) a hollow needle connected to said body, with said hollow needle in fluid communication with said chamber through said inlet, so that blood can be rapidly drawn into said chamber through said needle. The needle is optionally removed and blood dispensed from the body into a test or collection device by actuating the ejector.
APPARATUS FOR RAPID COLLECTION OF BLOOD FROM LIVERSTOCK
An apparatus useful for the rapid collection of blood from a subject (e.g., the vein of a bovine subject) and dispensing the blood therefrom into a collection device includes: (a) a capillary body having a capillary chamber formed therein, with the chamber having an inlet and outlet, and with said chamber configured to draw blood therein through the inlet by capillary action; (b) a hollow barrel connected to the chamber outlet; (c) a plunger positioned in the barrel; and (d) a hollow needle connected to the capillary body, with the hollow needle in fluid communication with the capillary chamber through the capillary inlet, so that blood can be rapidly drawn into the capillary chamber through the needle by the combined action of vein pressure (or other pressure, if present, such as arterial pressure) and capillary action.
Needle assembly with diagnostic analysis provisions
A needle assembly. The needle assembly enabling the analysis of fluid trapped in a flashback chamber after an insertion needle has been inserted into a patient's vein.
