Automatic fluid flow system with latch connection
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to apparatus and methods for automatic fluid flow system connectors. The system generally includes a load cell interface coupled to a console and a ring connector coupled to a fluid collection system. The ring connector can be releasably engaged with the load cell using an engagement structure such as a latch, locking arm, or spring clip mechanism. The ring connector and load cell can include electrical contacts configured to engage along an axis that extends perpendicular to a surface that the electrical contacts are disposed on. Advantageously, reduced wear on the electrical contacts should extend the usable life of the system.
AUTOMATIC URINE MEASURING DEVICE
The invention relates to a urinary measuring device for taking and measuring urine samples, configured to be arranged in a urinary receptacle. The device is characterized in that it comprises: a) a funnel for sample collection, comprising a main opening; b) a urine collection unit connected to the opening for receiving the sample from the funnel; and c) a casing for electronics positioned close to the urine collection unit, the casing for electronics containing a light emitter arranged for emitting light on the urine collection unit and a sensor arranged for measuring the light received from the urine collection unit.
URINE FLOW METER
In this urine flow meter, a water wheel which is caused to rotate by a flow of urine from a urine flow passage tube is provided at a lower end side of the urine flow passage tube. The shape of a tip portion of the urine flow passage tube that causes urine to hit on the water wheel constitutes a nozzle part in which the tip-side is acutely processed, and an opening is formed in a sidewall surface of the tip-side. A guide is provided in a urine flow passage and is disposed in such a way that a tip of the guide is elongated as far as a tip-side region of the mine flow passage tube. The water wheel is caused to rotate by the flow of urine, and the urine flow rate can be detected on the basis of the rotation detection information.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DRAINING AND ANALYZING BODILY FLUIDS
Systems, devices and methods for draining and analyzing bodily fluids are disclosed in which a drainage assembly is configured to prevent negative pressure build-up. The drainage assembly generally includes a catheter which may include a drainage lumen, a reservoir, a venting mechanism in fluid communication with the drainage lumen and a positive pressure lumen, and a controller. The venting mechanism may further include a valve which is configured to maintain a closed position, as well as a vent in fluid communication with the valve, where the venting mechanism is configured to inhibit wetting of the vent from fluid within the drainage lumen
Portable level sensor
A portable level sensor for a flexible bag for collecting a fluid and/or a solid, and a system and method for sensing the content level of a flexible bag using the portable level sensor. The sensor comprises a flexible resistor element with an electrical resistance that changes in dependence upon its degree of flexing, means for attaching the resistor element to an outside surface of the flexible bag and means for periodically polling the electrical resistance of the resistor element and transmitting to a receiver a signal which varies in dependence on the said electrical resistance.
Catheter monitor integration with patient support, hygiene and healthcare communication systems
Catheter monitor integration with patient support systems, such as patient beds, and with other healthcare communication systems including hand hygiene systems is provided. A patient bed that transmits bed data and catheter monitor data is disclosed. When catheter tubing is connected to a catheter monitor integrated into a patient bed, the bed automatically implements a falls prevention protocol. A countdown timer pertaining to removal of catheter tubing from a patient is displayed on one or more display devices. Monitoring for caregiver handwashing compliance in connection with use of a catheter monitor or a catheter kit is also provided.
Sensor Management And Record Tracking System
The present invention is an early infection detection system comprising: a housing having a sensor system section and tray section; an inflow port in fluid communications with a catheter to allow bodily fluid to flow from a patient into the tray section; a color sensor included in the sensor section and in electrical communications with a control module configured to sense the color of a reagent and convert the color to a numeric value representing the amount of a compound, such as bacteria, present in the bodily fluid; a tray carrying a reagent that darkens relative to the amount of the compound present in a bodily fluid that contacts the strip; and, computer readable instructions included in the control module for receiving the numeric value and transmitting the numeric value to a local server.
Surgical tissue stabilizers and related methods
Provided are devices and methods suitable for immobilizing tissue and for use in non-invasive methods of assessing lower urinary tract symptoms as well as in surgical application.
CATHETER OR CANNULA ARRANGEMENT WITH FLOW SENSOR AND RELATED DEVICES, SYSTEMS, USES AND METHODS
The catheter or cannula arrangement includes a catheter or cannula; a sensing unit including a sensing element for sensing a flow of a fluid; and an output unit operationally connectable to the sensing unit. The output unit is provided for receiving from the sensing unit signals related to the sensed flow of the fluid referred to as sensed signals, for obtaining, by processing the sensed signals, signals referred to as processed signals, and for outputting the processed signals, e.g., via a visual display. The output unit may include fixing structures attachment to tubing of the catheter or cannula. The sensing unit may be provided by a tube extension. The catheter or cannula may be a urinary catheter.
CAPACITIVE MEASUREMENT DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL SHIELDING
A substance measurement device includes: a container portion configured to receive a substance; a sensing device configured to measure a property of the substance related to at least one of a flow rate of the substance into the container portion, a level of the substance within the container portion, and a volume of the substance within the container portion; and at least one shield positioned within the container portion and configured to provide at least one of: a mechanical buffer between the substance entering the container portion and the sensing device; and an electrical shield between the substance entering the container portion and the sensing device.
