Sedentary period detection using a wearable electronic device
Systems and methods for determining a sedentary state of a user are described. Sensor data is collected and analyzed to calculate metabolic equivalent of task (MET) measures for a plurality of moments of interest. Based on the MET measures and a time period for which the MET measures exceed a threshold value, it is determined whether the user is in a sedentary state. If the user is in the sedentary state, the user is provided a notification to encourage the user to perform a non-sedentary activity.
Notifications on a User Device Based on Activity Detected by an Activity Monitoring Device
Methods, systems and devices are provided for motion-activated display of messages on an activity monitoring device. In one embodiment, method for presenting a message on an activity monitoring device is provided, including the following method operations: downloading a plurality of messages to the device; detecting a stationary state of the device; detecting a movement of the device from the stationary state; in response to detecting the movement from the stationary state, selecting one of a plurality of messages, and displaying the selected message on the device.
Athletic Performance Monitoring System Utilizing Heart Rate Information
Athletic activity may be monitored using heart rate in addition to or instead of other types of metrics. Accordingly, multiple different activity types may be compared based on heart rate information. Additionally, the heart rate information may be visualized by displaying the heart rate data over time or relative to pace or distance. Additionally, the system may allow a user to analyze his or her heart rate performance by identifying one or more portions of the athletic activity in which a user exhibited a specified range of heart rates. Athletic activity sessions may further be tagged with various indicators including weather, terrain, difficulty and intensity. According to one or more aspects, data for different types of activity metrics may be polled and/or transmitted to a system at different rates or based on different schedules. Moreover, users may specify whether sensed data may be uploaded, recorded and/or visualized prior to or during an activity session.
PORTABLE DEVICE AND PHYSICAL STRENGTH EVALUATION METHOD THEREOF
A physical strength evaluation method of a portable device is disclosed. The physical strength evaluation method of the portable device comprises the steps of: measuring a walking speed of a user; measuring the heart rate of the user; and evaluating the physical strength of the user by using the measured heart rate when the walking speed of the user changes to a specific speed or higher.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING CALORIMETRIC PERFORMANCE AND REQUIREMENTS
A calorimetric performance monitoring system includes an analyzer that is fluidly connected to an in-stream respiration flow sensor. The system includes a controller that is configured to determine a flow rate of respiration flow and at least a portion of a composition of the respiration flow on a breath-by-breath basis and temporally associate the respiration flow value and the determined portion(s) of the composition of the respiration flow and segregate non-steady state respiration performance data from steady state respiration performance data and determine a calorimetric performance from the steady state respiration performance data.
Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and program
An information processing apparatus may include a processor to acquire information associated with behavior of a user and information associated with satisfaction degree of the user, and to analyze an association between the information associated with behavior and the information associated with satisfaction degree.
