SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING CARDIORESPIRATORY FITNESS
A method of determining a CRF level for a user of a fitness tracking system includes receiving activity data from at least one activity sensor carried by the user during a number of workouts, the activity data including distance data for each of the number of workouts, and then generating workout data based on the activity data. The method further includes storing the workout data in a memory, the memory further including demographic data for the user. When the an attribute of the workout data is less than a threshold number, the method includes determining a first CRF level for the user based on a first CRF model. When the attribute of the workout data is greater than the threshold number, the method includes determining a second CRF level for the user based on a second CRF model.
DETECTING ACTIVITY BY A WHEELCHAIR USER
The present disclosure relates to a system and method of detecting activity by a wheelchair user. In one aspect, a method comprises collecting motion data of a user device located on an appendage of the user; detecting, by a processor circuit, that one or more activities by the wheelchair user occurred based on the motion data; calculating, by a processor circuit, an energy expenditure by the user based the one or more activities by the wheelchair user occurred; and outputting, by a processor circuit, the energy expenditure estimation.
Portable monitoring devices and methods of operating same
According to one embodiment, an apparatus comprising a portable monitoring device to be affixed to a user. The portable monitoring device including: 1) a set of one or more sensors to generate sensor data indicative of physical activity of a user when the portable monitoring device is affixed to the user; and 2) processing circuitry coupled with the set of sensors, to detect that the user has been sedentary for a period of time, and cause the portable monitoring device to alert the user responsive to the detection to encourage the user to move.
Devices, systems and methods for testing cardiac exercise functions
The present disclosure discloses a device, system and method for testing cardiac exercise functions. Chronotropic Competence Indices (CCIs) are proposed to quantitatively describe the adaptation capability of cardiopulmonary system in response to exercise intensity variation in terms of heart rate changes, and thereby describes the dynamic process of the heart in the body metabolic process. The present disclosure discloses a device which measures the CCIs in real time by using the wearable technology, and referred to as Cardiac Exercise Test (CET). Compared with the Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPX) and parameters measured by the CPX such as a maximum oxygen uptake, the CCIs have clear clinical meanings and specific normal reference values; and the CET reduces the risk of the test. It is simple to use, and can be used anytime anywhere. It is of great importance in wide clinical applications, and is of great significance in prevention and rehabilitation of cardiopulmonary disease.
