AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF TEETH CLENCHING AND/OR TEETH GRINDING
20170071529 · 2017-03-16 ·

The present disclosure provides a computer implemented method for automatic detection of teeth clenching and/or teeth grinding in a dataset representing the level of biting force vs. time of a subject, the method comprising the steps of a) calculating a threshold level of biting force assigned to time t=t.sub.1 based on a background level determined from the dataset at a prior time t=t.sub.1T.sub.back, where T.sub.track is a first predefined period of time,b) checking the level of biting, and if the level of biting force at time,t, exceeds the threshold level assigned to time t for a second predefined period of time, T.sub.clench/grind, then assigning an event of teeth clenching to time t,c) if an event of teeth clenching has been assigned to time t, then either waiting a predefined period of time 10 T.sub.wait,or waiting until the level of biting is below the threshold for another predefined period of time T.sub.end, d) if no events of teeth clenching and/or teeth grinding have been assigned for a third predefined period of time T.sub.silence, then repeating steps a)-c),e)if events of teeth clenching and/or teeth grinding have been assigned for a third predefined period of time T.sub.silence, then repeating only steps b)-c).

The present invention relates to an intra-oral bite device for use with an x-ray recording apparatus for recording the image of at least one oral area of a patient, located by the intra-oral bite device.

WEARABLE MEASUREMENT DEVICE AND MEASUREMENT METHOD

The wearable measurement device includes a mounting part for mounting the device to a human body, a variation detection part detecting a variation in distance from a predetermined portion of the human body, a posture detection part detecting a posture of the variation detection part in the case where the device is mounted to the human body through the mounting part, and a measurement part measuring the number of predetermined motions based on the variation detected by the variation detection part and the posture detected by the posture detection part. The variation detection part includes a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit, makes the light emitting unit emit light and the light receiving unit detect reflection light reflected at a predetermined portion, detects a distance from the predetermined portion and outputs an electric signal (voltage or current) in accordance with the detected distance at a predetermined sampling cycle.

System for measuring teeth movement and contact pressure

A wearable dental apparatus for capturing dental properties of a patient includes a support structure. The support structure is configured to be worn on the dentition of the patient. The wearable dental apparatus includes at least one sensor. The sensor is coupled to the support structure. The sensor is configured to capture a series of measurement of a dental property of the patient. The measurements are associated with one or more locations on the dentition of the patient. A dental map is generated based on at least some of the measurements and is displayed. The dentition of a patient is restored by selecting a restoration material based on the measurements.
