Charging roll for electrophotographic equipment
Provided is a charging roll for electrophotographic equipment with which any increase in resistance and any bleeding of ionic electroconductive agent while energization persists can be minimized. A charging roll 10 for electrophotographic equipment, the charging roll 10 comprising a shaft body 12 and an elastic layer 14 that is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body 12, the elastic layer 14 being a crosslinked article of a rubber composition containing the following components (a) to (e). (a) One or more selected from hydrin rubber and nitrile rubber, (b) a crosslinking agent, (c) an ionic electroconductive agent, (d) one or more selected from piperidinyloxy radical compounds and phenolic antioxidants, and (e) one or more selected from salts of cyclic amidine compounds and thiophthalimide compounds.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a charging member, a developing member, a transfer member, a brush, a drive unit, a control unit, and a memory. The charging member charges a surface of the photosensitive drum at a charging portion. The transfer member comes into contact with the photosensitive drum to form a transfer portion. The drive unit rotatably drive the photosensitive drum. The control unit controls the drive unit to perform an image forming operation. The memory stores information about the image forming operation. In a case where the image forming operation is performed and a non-image forming operation is performed after the image forming operation, the control unit performs control such that a switching operation for stopping the photosensitive drum after the photosensitive drum is driven and re-driving the photosensitive drum is performed a plurality of times based on the information about the image forming operation.
Image forming apparatus having first and second retractable toner cartridges
An image forming apparatus includes a first toner cartridge to store first toner and is movable to a first attached position and a first retracted position with respect to a storage frame, and a second toner cartridge to store second toner and is movable to a second attached position and a second retracted position with respect to a second storage frame. A movable first support member supports the first toner cartridge, and a movable second support member supports the second toner cartridge. In a case where a length by which the first toner cartridge at the first retracted position projects from an opening in a body frame is a first length and a length by which the second toner cartridge at the second retracted position projects from the opening is a second length, the first length is larger than the second length.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable rotary including a developing roller and a storage frame including a storage portion to store toner, a body frame with an opening, a toner cartridge which is attachable to and detachable from the rotary through the opening, which is movable to an attached position and a retracted position, a moving device to move the toner cartridge from the attached position to the retracted position, and an opening/closing member provided to be movable between a closed position and an open position. The opening/closing member moves from the closed position to the open position in an interconnected manner with movement of the toner cartridge from the attached position to the retracted position by the moving device.
Drum unit and image formation apparatus
A drum unit including a photosensitive drum may satisfy an equation of V0.489Q0.014 (%), where V={1(V1/V0)}100 (%). V0 is a surface potential of the photosensitive drum that is measured under a first condition that exposes a surface of the photosensitive drum at an exposure amount Q in a range of 0.13 to 0.34 J/cm2 while the photosensitive drum is rotated at a circumferential speed of 151 mm/s with the surface of the photosensitive drum being charged with a voltage having 1000 volts and a first polarity. V1 is a surface potential of the photosensitive drum that is measured under the first condition again after the surface of the photosensitive drum is applied for 406 seconds with a voltage having 2850 volts and a second polarity while the photosensitive drum is rotated at the circumferential speed of 73 mm/s.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable image bearing member about a rotational axis extending in the axial direction, a charging member, an accommodating portion accommodating toner charged to a predetermined polarity; a developing member, a transfer portion, a static eliminating portion, and a collecting member. In the axial direction, when A is a eliminating width with which the eliminating portion discharges the surface of the image bearing member, B is an effective charging width with which the charging member charges the surface, and C is a collection contacting width with which the collecting member contacts the surface, the formula A<B<C is satisfied. In the axial direction, a surface potential of the surface in an area outside the effective charging width, inside the collection contacting width and in contact with the collecting member is a first potential larger than 0V in the same polarity direction as the predetermined polarity.
Image forming apparatus
The image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a charging unit, an exposure unit, a developing unit, a transfer unit, a cleaning blade, and a controller. The controller detects printing-coverage rates on a basis of plural areas divided in the longitudinal direction of the image carrier. Upon occurrence of a difference exceeding a specified threshold value among the coverage rates of the plural areas, the controller executes, for a duration of specified aging time, aging process in which the image carrier is driven into rotation in its charged state.
