Mutually calibrated magnetic imaging array
A mutually calibrated magnetic imaging array system is described. The system includes a non-target magnetic source rigidly attached to a magnetometer, and an attached control unit to measure and adjust several parameters of a magnetic imaging array. A non-target magnetic field source is used to generate a well-defined and distinguishable spatial magnetic field distribution. The source is rigidly attached directly to a magnetometer, while the relative positions of the magnetometers are unknown. The magnetic imaging array is used to measure the strength of the non-target source magnetic fields and the information is used to calibrate several parameters of the array, such as, but not limited to, effective magnetometer positions and orientations with respect to each other and cross-talk between the magnetometers. The system, and method described herein eliminates the need for a separate calibration phantom.
SENSORS TO DETERMINE NEURONAL ACTIVITY OF AN ORGANISM TO FACILITATE A HUMAN-MACHINE INTERFACE
Various embodiments relate generally to electrical and electronic hardware, computer software and systems, and wired and wireless network communications to provide an interface between an organism and other computing machine-based entities, and, more specifically, to sensors that facilitate determination of a state of neural activity with which to associate data representing, for example, an intent and/or a command; to implementations of sensors under control to, for example, modify sensing characteristics to interpolate response signals spatially or temporally, or both, to facilitate determination of a state of neural activity; to the formation or implementation of a data model that includes, for example, data arrangements representative of at least neuronal activity to facilitate determination of a state of neural activity; and to mobile human-machine interface to facilitate control based on neuronal activity of an organism.
Neuropsychological spatiotemporal pattern recognition
Systems and methods for identifying and analyzing neuropsychological flow patterns, include creating a knowledge base of neuropsychological flow patterns. The knowledge base is formed by obtaining signals from multiple research groups for particular behavioral processes, localizing sources of activity participating in the particular behavioral processes, identifying sets of patterns of brain activity for the behavioral processes and neuropsychologically analyzing the localized sources and the identified patterns for each of the research groups. The neuropsychological analysis includes identifying all possible pathways for the identified sets of patterns, ranking the possible pathways based on likelihood for the particular behavioral process and reducing the number of ranked possible pathways based on additional constraints. A system for comparison of obtained signals from an individual to the created knowledge base is provided. These obtained signals are then used to further update the existing knowledge base.
System and method for identifying a focal area of abnormal network interactions in the brain
One aspect of the present disclosure relates to a system that can identify a focal area of abnormal brain interactions in a subject. Time series data can be received that corresponds to recordings from a plurality of regions in a brain of the subject during a resting period. Based on the time series data, an information inflow associated with each of the plurality of regions can be determined. The focal area of the abnormal brain interactions can be identified as one of the plurality of regions having a maximum information inflow.
