An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a developer bearing member, a fixing unit including a heating member, a rotary member which is heated by the heating member, and a nip area where the rotary member comes into contact with a sheet, and configured to perform fixing by heating a developer image transferred to the sheet and fixing the developer image to the sheet in the nip area, and a control unit configured to execute, while the fixing is not performed, a mode in which the image bearing member is rotated with the developer bearing member being in a separated position and the heating member is controlled such that a temperature of a portion of a surface of the rotary member, after the rotary member passes through the nip area, is maintained higher than the temperature of the portion during the fixing.
Optical scanning device and image forming apparatus including the same
An optical scanning device includes a housing having light emitting ports extending in a predetermined direction, a transparent cover that closes the light emitting ports, a screw shaft arranged so as to extend in the predetermined direction along the transparent cover, a holding member having an engaging part engaged with the screw shaft, and a cleaning member held to the holing member. An abutting fulcrum is provided at an end of a movement path of the holing member, abuts a predetermined place of a surface of a front side in a progress direction of the holing member, allows the holing member to rotate by employing an abutting part of the holding member with the abutting fulcrum as a fulcrum, and reduces a position shift amount between the one side end portion and the other side end portion of the holing member in the progress direction.
Blade, cleaning device, and image forming apparatus incorporating same
An elastic blade includes a contact edge to contact a contact object, an edge region including the contact edge, and a backup region different in at least one of material and physical property from the edge region and adjacent to the edge region on a cross section perpendicular to a direction in which the contact edge extends. The backup region is free of direct contact with the contact object. In the elastic blade, a converted elastic power X is from 57% to 90% and defined as
TONER COLLECTING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A toner collecting device includes an exhaust path and a catching installation. Through the exhaust path, air containing a floating toner is passed. The catching installation is configured to catch the floating toner from the air passing through the exhaust path. The catching installation is formed by overlapping a plural of filters each having a different mesh size.
FOREIGN SUBSTANCE COLLECTION APPARATUS, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A foreign substance collection apparatus includes: a frame body; a photosensitive drum; a cleaning roller which collects foreign substances from a surface of the photosensitive drum; a collecting roller which further collects the foreign substances having been collected by the cleaning roller from the cleaning roller; and a scraping member which scrapes off the foreign substances from the collecting roller. A foreign substance collecting portion included in the frame body has, in a posture during use: a first inner bottom surface which is positioned below the scraping member in a gravity direction; an outer bottom surface which is positioned further below the first inner bottom surface; and a connecting surface which intersects the first inner bottom surface and the outer bottom surface and which connects the first inner bottom surface and the outer bottom surface with each other.
HINGE DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS EQUIPPED WITH GREASE SWEEPER ABUTTING ON SURFACE OF STATIONARY SUPPORT MEMBER WHEN PIVOTAL SUPPORT MEMBER PIVOTALLY MOVES
A hinge device supports a document holder to allow the document holder to open and close with respect to a body of an image forming apparatus. The hinge device includes a stationary support member, a pivotal support member, and a grease sweeper. The stationary support member is provided on the body of the image forming apparatus. The pivotal support member is provided on the document holder and pivotally connected through a pivotal shaft to the stationary support member. The grease sweeper is attached to the pivotal support member. A distal end of the grease sweeper always abuts on a surface of the stationary support member while the pivotal support member pivotally moves.
Cleaning rod for optical print head included in image forming apparatus
A cleaning rod includes a rod-like member, a slidable portion which is provided on a free end side of the rod-like member with respect to a direction in which the cleaning rod is inserted and which is slidable on a light emergent surface of a lens of an image forming apparatus, and a restricting portion configured to restrict movement of the slidable portion in a direction away from the light emergent surface with respect to an optical axis direction by contacting the holder at each of free ends of opposing wall portions of a holder of the image forming apparatus from a side opposite from a side where a photosensitive member of the image forming apparatus is provided with respect to the optical axis direction in a state in which the slidable portion contacts the light emergent surface.
Exposure head and image forming apparatus including exposure head
An exposure head configured to expose a photoreceptor includes a substrate having a plurality of light emitting portions, a lens array having a plurality of lenses that condense light emitted from the light emitting portions onto the photoreceptor, and a holder that holds the substrate and the lens array. The holder has an opposing surface including an opening into which the lens array is inserted and facing the photoreceptor in an optical axis direction of the lens. The opposing surface has a contacting surface on which a cleaning rod cleaning a light exit surface of the lens array abuts.
