In one aspect, a device for detecting an analyte and/or releasing a biochemical into a biological fluid can include an array of hollowed needles, in which each needle includes a protruded needle structure including an exterior wall forming a hollow interior and an opening at a terminal end of the protruded needle structure that exposes the hollow interior, and a probe inside the exterior wall to interact with one or more chemical or biological substances that come in contact with the probe via the opening to produce a probe sensing signal, and an array of wires that are coupled to probes of the array of hollowed needles, respectively, each wire being electrically conductive to transmit the probe sensing signal produced by a respective probe.
Electrode-status-determining facility and method for determining electrode status information
A method is for determining electrode status information relating to an electrode in a differential voltage measuring system for measuring a bioelectric signal, the electrode status information indicating whether the electrode is connected or not connected. An embodiment of the method includes the acquisition of a temporal profile of an electric current flowing through a shunt resistor, wherein the shunt resistor is arranged in series with the electrode in an electric transmission path of the differential voltage measuring system, and the determination of the electrode status information on the basis of the temporal profile.
MEDICAL ELECTRODE AND LIMB CLAMP FOR AN ECG DEVICE
The present invention provides a medical electrode comprising a conductive metal base comprising a plate element and a boss formed on the plate element and a conductive support cylinder separate from the conductive metal base. The conductive support cylinder is rotatably mounted to the conductive metal base while remaining in electrical communication with said conductive metal base. The present invention also provides a limb clamp for an ECG device. According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent bending of the cable connecting with the medical electrode, thereby avoiding cable failure.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PHYSIOLOGICAL SIGNAL COLLECTION
A compact integrated patch may be used to collect physiological data. The patch may be wireless. The patch may be utilized in everyday life as well as in clinical environments. Data acquired by the patch and/or external devices may be interpreted and/or be utilized by healthcare professionals and/or computer algorithms (e.g., third party applications). Data acquired by the patch may be interpreted and be presented for viewing to healthcare professionals and/or ordinary users.
DETECTING LEAD DISLODGEMENT DURING ATRIAL FIBRILLATION
A medical device system and method for detecting dislodgement of a lead determines one or more characteristics of a cardiac signal received via the lead that are associated with dislodgement of the lead during atrial fibrillation, and detects dislodgement of the ventricular lead based on the determined characteristics. The medical device and system provides a lead dislodgment alert in response to detecting dislodgement. In some examples, an implantable medical device withholds delivery of a defibrillation therapy based on detecting dislodgement of the lead.
ELECTROCARDIOGRAM MEASUREMENT DEVICE FOR VEHICLE, SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME, AND METHOD THEREFOR
An electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement device for a vehicle is provided. The ECG measurement device includes an impedance compensator that corresponds to an electrode in contact with a body of a driver and configured to compensate an impedance of each of electrode signals received from the electrode. An electrode selector sequentially selects the electrode signals in response to receiving the electrode signals from the electrode. A differential amplifier differentially amplifies the electrode signals. In particular, each electrode signal has the compensated impedance. Additionally, a signal quality evaluator evaluates quality of an ECG signal output from the differential amplifier and a compensation controller then adjusts an impedance compensation value of each of the impedance compensators as a result of evaluating the quality of the ECG signal.
Extracorporeal unit for inspecting the insulation of an electrical wire of an implanted medical device
A system is provided for testing the electrical integrity of an implanted pacemaker or defibrillator lead. The system includes a container holding an electrically conductive solution, such as a saline solution. A voltage source and two electrodes are provided to pass an electrical current through the solution. To use the system, the proximal end of the electrical lead is disconnected from the implanted electronic device, passed through the saline solution and then electrically connected to a device/monitor. During testing, the device/monitor sends a test pulse through the lead and monitors electrical activity in the lead. To test sequential locations along the length of the proximal segment, the segment is drawn through the saline solution and between the electrodes while test pulses are sent and monitored. The monitor detects abnormal electrical activity in the lead indicative of a break in lead insulation.
