An image forming apparatus includes a main assembly; an image forming portion for forming an image on a sheet; an openable member rotatably supported by the main assembly; a first feeding guide provided on the openable member; a second feeding guide provided in the main assembly, wherein when the openable member is closed, a sheet feeding path for feeding the sheet is formed by the first and second feeding guides; a hole provided in the first feeding guide; and an illumination device, provided on the openable member, for illuminating at least a part of the second feeding guide through the hole when the openable member is open.
SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A sheet processing apparatus is described. The sheet processing apparatus includes a housing section, a conveyance mechanism and a controller. The housing section accommodates a sheet. The conveyance mechanism conveys the sheet accommodated in the housing section to a predetermined position at the downstream side in a sheet conveyance direction. The controller controls the conveyance mechanism to remove a needle-free binding section of a sheet bundle if a conveyance jam of the sheet occurs.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
To allow easy access to a jammed sheet when a sheet jam occurs in a sheet processing device installed inside the body of an image forming apparatus. An image forming apparatus is provided with a sheet binding unit that applies binding to sheets. The sheet binding unit has a carry-in port for receiving a sheet to be conveyed to a sheet carry-in path formed thereinside and an openable cover for opening the carry-in port. The end portion of the openable cover on the carry-in port side and an end portion of an operation part for inputting an operational item for the operation carried out in the image forming apparatus are arranged spaced apart from each other at a predetermined distance.
Sheet processing apparatus and control method
A sheet processing apparatus is described. The sheet processing apparatus includes a housing section, a conveyance mechanism and a controller. The housing section accommodates a sheet. The conveyance mechanism conveys the sheet accommodated in the housing section to a predetermined position at the downstream side in a sheet conveyance direction. The controller controls the conveyance mechanism to remove a needle-free binding section of a sheet bundle if a conveyance jam of the sheet occurs.
SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
According to one embodiment of the present invention, occurrence of a half-latch state when pushing a sheet stacking unit into a sheet feeding apparatus at an angle is prevented. More specifically, inside a sheet feeding apparatus that accommodates and fixes the sheet stacking unit, a latch assembly in which left and right latches and a connecting portion that connects these are configured and that operates integrally is provided. By this, even when one roller of the sheet stacking unit contacts one latch which rides up on the roller in a case where the sheet stacking unit is pushed into the sheet feeding apparatus at an angle, it is possible to hold off on engagement of the latches until the other roller passes the other latch.
Image forming apparatus including illumination device to illuminate jammed sheet
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a door, a first guide, a second guide configured to move from a first position to a second position, a first illumination device, and a second illumination device. The first illumination device is configured to illuminate a door side of the second guide positioned in the second position, with the door side of the second guide being closer to the door than a conveyance center line of the conveyance path in a width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction of a sheet which is conveyed in the conveyance path. The second illumination device is configured to illuminate in a direction different from a direction in which the first illumination device illuminates, and the second illumination device is configured to illuminate a space between the first guide and the second guide positioned in the second position.
Feeding apparatus
A feeding apparatus includes a feeding rotary member, a conveying rotary member pair, an output unit, a detection unit, and a control unit. The conveying rotary member pair includes first and second rotary members. The control unit stops a feeding operation when the detection unit does not detect the recording material by the time when a threshold time has elapsed after an operation of feeding a recording material is stated. The control unit determines that the recording material is stopped at a position on an upstream side relative to the nip portion in the feeding direction in a case where a rotation speed of the second rotary member, indicated by a state signal output from the output unit at least in a period of time from when the recording material reaches the nip portion to when the feeding operation is stopped, is faster than a threshold speed.
Image forming apparatus, image forming method, and image forming management apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit that forms an image on a transfer medium on the basis of image data, a feeder that feeds the transfer medium, and a control unit that manages image data and controls the image forming unit and the feeder. In a case where a base image and an overprint image are printed by the same image forming apparatus, the control unit can manage first image data of the base image and second image data of the overprint image by associating the data with each other, and when a jam of the transfer medium is detected during output of an overprint image, the control unit causes a transfer medium to which the base image is output by the image forming apparatus to be replenished for print instead of a jammed transfer medium removed by jam processing.

SHEET TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet transport device includes: a transport part that transports a sheet along a transport path; a sheet guide that forms the transport path when located at a first position and that exposes the sheet in the transport path when located at the second position; a housing that accommodates the transport part and the sheet guide; a cover provided on the housing, the cover being capable of being opened and closed and being provided at a position where the cover covers the sheet guide; and a pulling member that is connected at one end to the cover and at the other end to the sheet guide located at the first position when the cover is closed, the pulling member pulling the sheet guide to the second position when the cover is opened.
